This 1958 Article About How To 'Get A Husband' Shows Just How Different Things Are Now 😮

With so much talk of making America great again, we can't help but wonder what it would really be like to return to the olden days, especially for women.

Kim Marx-Kuczynski, a Facebook user from Madison, Wisconsin, came across an old magazine that could possibly shed some light on what the "good ol' days" looked like for women. Marx-Kuczynski posted a 1958 article from McCall's entitled "129 Ways to Get a Husband," and we can't stop laughing at how ridiculously bad the advice is.

The article begins with:

"In the United States today there are sixteen million women over the age of seventeen who are not married. Presumably the vast majority of them would like to be."

Marx-Kuczynski's boyfriend spotted the magazine and a yard sale. Marx-Kuczynski tells Bored Panda:

"My boyfriend John Bascynski spotted it at a rummage sale and pointed it out. I bought it for a dollar. I think the article is reflective of the social mores of the era, and I found the comparison between what was acceptable then and what is acceptable now fascinating. It also made me grateful that so much progress has been made."

Going on to add why she felt compelled to share it on social media she adds:

"It's outdated and absurd and funny, but it had serious intentions. Society has changed so much in the last sixty years, and this article exemplifies the differences between what our moms and grandmas grew up with compared to ourselves and the coming generations. It's fascinating."

We have to think when people talk about the "good old days" if they were really that good for everyone.

Trump Is Weirding Everyone Out With His Bizarre Comments About Whole Milk

President Donald Trump was widely mocked after he made a clarification about "hole" vs. "whole" milk—yes, really—during a press conference about bringing whole milk back to schools.

Trump signed legislation on Wednesday restoring whole milk to school cafeteria menus, a move that reverses a 2012 Obama-era policy that restricted schools participating in the National School Lunch Program to serving only skim or low-fat milk, an effort aimed at curbing childhood obesity.
