TikToker @dani_fitmom responded to criticism over her unorthodox birthday foods for her young children, explaining why she doesn't opt for a traditional cake.

Birthdays are a great time to enjoy a special treat.

TikToker @dani_fitmom recently posted footage of her young children’s birthday treats, and the internet is reeling.

Instead of the traditional sugar-filled birthday cake, @dani_fitmom served up a savory treat of ... surf n’ turf.

Yep, the influencer gave their 1-year-old:

“-Grass fed & finished tomahawk steak”
“-wild caught lobster”
“-grass fed organic butter”

The non-traditional birthday meal was announced in a TikTok video that has garnered over 6 million views.

Viewers everywhere had conflicting feelings about the TikToker’s parenting choice.

After a lot of negative attention, @dani_fitmom addressed her “haters” in a followup video.

She explained:

“It's because most birthday cakes and cookies are filled with nasty artificial dyes, most of which are banned in Europe, but still very widely used in the US, and it's a known cancer link.”
“It's known to cause behaviour and learning issues, known to have adverse effects on attention, irritability, hypersensitivity, all that. So it's like, why would I pay a lot of money to give that to my daughter on her birthday? Especially because she's only one year old.”

She went on to explain that she contacted numerous local bakeries to inquire about their ingredients, and when she found that none of them were up to her standards, she opted for something else.

The internet still had opinions.

The Hunger Games, written by Suzanne Collins, is the story of Katniss Everdeen, a young woman who finds herself up against a hostile government that forces teenagers to fight to the death every year to intimidate critics and keep society's poorest and most vulnerable in line.

Tucker Carlson Dragged After His Conspiracy Theory Prediction About Trump's Speech Is Way Off

Former Fox News personality turned far-right podcaster Tucker Carlson was widely mocked after he made a bold prediction about what President Donald Trump would announce during his primetime address to the nation on Wednesday—namely that the U.S. would go to war with Venezuela.

But it turns out Carlson was very, very wrong. The speech was nowhere near that consequential and Trump spent the majority of it complaining about former President Joe Biden.
