After a woman's post about having a 'German shepherd husband' as opposed to a 'golden retriever boyfriend' went viral, people were quick to weigh in to make things more accurate to the breed.

In a new twist on the “golden retriever boyfriend" trend, a poster on TikTok shared a video of what she called her “German shepherd” husband, and was promptly roasted in the comments.

In recent online vernacular, the so-called "golden retriever" is a boyfriend or husband who is friendly and supportive and generally happy, if not overly burdened with deep thoughts.

In contrast, this poster claimed that her husband, featured shirtless and preparing food in her video, is more like a German shepherd.

The text overlay read:

“He’s not energetic or super friendly but he’s loyal. He doesn’t like strangers and he calls me on my bulls**t. He would bite anyone who tried to hurt me."

"He gives me tough love when I need it but will be the first one to comfort me when I’m sad. He doesn’t like a lot of people but he loves his ‘people’ more than anything."

"Get a German Shepherd husband.”

If you're thinking that doesn’t sound much like an actual German shepherd, or like an ideal husband, you’re definitely not alone.

Podcaster Josh Lekach posted a screenshot to X, formerly Twitter, where it quickly went viral.

Folks disagreed with the poster’s idea of what German shepherds are really like.

People with actual German shepherds said their dogs apparently missed a memo.

And folks imagined what a “real” German shepherd husband would be like.

Other women shared what type of dogs their own husbands are.

Forget human husbands with dog-like characteristics, some said. Women just want actual dogs.

Folks complained about why women are obsessed with dogs to begin with.

People took issue with the generalization about women’s preferences as a whole.

Though some were impressed that a post could be wrong about so very many things.

It should go without saying that human men are more complicated than dogs, but this trend will undoubtedly continue.

Let's keep it all in good fun!

Sydney Sweeney Speaks Out After 'Christy' Biopic Has One Of Worst Box Office Openings Of All Time

Sydney Sweeney can land a punch, but maybe not at the box office. Her latest film, Christy, a biopic about trailblazing boxer Christy Martin, landed a hard blow but barely connected with the audience, opening to a paltry $1.3 million.

That’s not just a loss; it’s a technical knockout in the “worst wide release openings ever” category, according to Box Office Mojo. For films debuting in over 2,000 theaters, Christy ranks at No. 12 overall and No. 9 when excluding rereleases.

Teen Breaks Down In Tears While Pleading With City Council To Do Something About ICE Raids

16-year-old Manny Chavez broke down in tears during a Hillsboro City Council meeting on Tuesday as he decried President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown and the ICE raids that have made him fear his own safety and that of his parents despite all of them being U.S. citizens.

Hillsboro, a Portland, Oregon, suburb with a significant Latino population, has been rocked by ICE raids; the Washington County Board of Commissioners last week declared a state of emergency in response to ICE activity.
