Woman Calls Out Husband For Refusing To Put Gas In Her Jeep Because It's Not 'His Car'

TikToker @ashlasko sparked a debate about her husband's uncaring reaction to the gas light being on in her Jeep and throwing the responsibility back onto her.

There's been a disturbing uptick of videos on TikTok in recent years portraying men who obviously appear to not like their partners.

From the "Couch Guy" who was not happy to see his long-distance girlfriend surprise him at his university dorm to men who refused to share food or celebrate important occasions, there are countless examples on this relationship dynamic.

To add insult to injury, now TikTok users have been introduced to a man who refused to put gas in his own wife's car.

TikToker @ashlasko explained in a viral video that she and her husband were on their way to the airport to pick up their daughter. Her husband was driving her Jeep and pointed out when they left the house that she "would need gas," but when they approached a gas station, he did not stop.

The couple successfully picked up their daughter at the airport and went out to dinner, but during the roundtrip to and from the airport, the husband gave no sign of stopping for gas.

When Ash noticed that the "low fuel" light was on, she asked her husband how long it had been on, to which he said:

"I don't know. This isn't my Jeep. I'm not paying attention to that."

To this, she demanded that her husband get off at the next exit so they could get gas, which they finally did.

Once they were back on the road, Ash confronted her husband, to which he replied:

"I was just going to keep driving, and when we ran out of gas, you were going to have to call AAA."

Fellow TikTokers had many questions and concerns, which Ash responded to in multiple videos.

Some wondered initially if the husband resisted helping with gas because of a recurring issue with his wife. If the TikToker had a recurring history of never putting gas in her car, it might explain her husband's reluctance.

However, Ash explained in one video that she filled her Jeep's tank up once or twice per week consistently, and in another video, she pointed out that her husband had run out of gas and needed to call AAA multiple times.

Ash also confided that someone had shared the original video with Ash's husband, which infuriated him, and Ash's husband and family members accused her of "embarrassing herself and her children."

Despite the drama, Ash refused to take the initial and follow-up videos down because she felt that she had "disrupted [her husband's] behavior" and given herself "a voice" where she didn't have one before.

Some cringed at the video and felt the husband was trying to teach his wife "a lesson."

While some might dismiss the initial video as an argument about filling up a gas tank, it was clear to many that it was just one representation of several red flags, centering around a problematic relationship dynamic.

By sharing a single moment in her relationship, Ash was able to find support and be alerted to her husband's troublesome behavior.

Vance Tried To Make A Joke About Seeing 'Les Misérables' At The Kennedy Center—And It's Peak Cringe

Vice President JD Vance had people groaning after he made a bad joke about the production of Les Misérables he and his wife, Second Lady Usha Vance, attended at the Kennedy Center with President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

The musical, set in 19th century France, tells the story of Jean Valjean, an ex-convict who is released from prison for stealing a loaf of bread. The story touches on timeless themes such as justice and mercy—and also happens to be about people resisting an authoritarian takeover, which many find ironic given the Trump administration's response to protests in Los Angeles.
