TikToker Hilariously Explains Why You Should Never Bring A Water Bottle With A Straw On A Flight

Woman learned important lesson about water bottles on airplanes

TikToker Kat Darby offered a warning for fellow air travelers after revealing her water bottle sprayed 'like 15 people' on her flight after she forgot to account for the change in pressure.

As humans, we are all incredibly smart in our own zones of expertise and interests, but there's no feasible way for us to know everything.

There are also things that we've simply never thought about before, no matter how "common sense" it might be for someone else.

That was exactly what Kat Darby (@lifted_pdx on TikTok) went through when she boarded a plane for a family holiday, with a filled water bottle in tow. The water bottle was one of those metal thermal water bottles with a built-in straw that pops out with the press of a button.

As some people might guess, the pressure in that water bottle will change when it travels, whether it's through a tunnel, at various elevations while driving, after shaking it, and of course...after flying through the air on a commercial airline.

Darby didn't think of that, though, so when she was thirsty, she pressed the button like any normal moment to take a sip, only for the water to splatter 'like 15 people' in the immediate rows around her.

The TikToker was able to look back at the moment with a laugh and shared the story with her community, predominantly on "BookTok," to warn them to think twice about opening their water bottles on a flight.

There's no way for any of us to be able to anticipate every single possible outcome in our lives, and sometimes even the common sense things won't come to us so easily.

The best thing for any of us to do is to take a page out of Darby's book and laugh when one of these moments backfires on us—or attempts to waterboard everyone around us—rather than beating ourselves up about it.

It's honestly kind of a hilarious memory that Darby will get to take with her, and it's surely a mistake she won't make again.

A 'Fake Egg' Prank Targeting Kids Is Trending On TikTok—But Not Everyone Thinks It's Funny

In a recent TikTok trend, people are presenting young children with "fake eggs" and crushing the egg in their hands to show that the eggs are fake.

In order for this trend to work, the person has to poke a hole into each end of the egg to drain it of its yolk and let the shell dry, so it becomes more brittle and easy to crush, making the prank more believable.

Guy Sparks Debate After Abandoning Girlfriend In Economy While He Booked Himself A First Class Seat On Flight

It's really hard to watch while someone is clearly not being treated well enough by their partner, and instead of accepting the reality check for what it is, they spend their time digging their heels in deeper and defending their partner's honor.

That was certainly true for TikToker Nicole Vawter, or @nicmarievee, anyway, when fellow TikTokers called her partner out on selfishly booking himself a first class seat while his long-time girlfriend sat back in economy.

You know what they say: if a person has to point out how nice they are, they probably aren't really all that nice.

Actions tend to speak louder than words, with an affinity for niceness and kindness being among the best examples. When a person is truly nice and kind, it will come through in their daily attitude and actions without them having to say anything at all.
