Social media users were absolutely gobsmacked after a comic book fan back in 2020 accurately predicted the casting for the new Superman reboot movie.
Moviegoers last saw stars Henry Cavill and Amy Adams play Superman and Lois Lane respectively on the big screen in Zack Snyder's Justice League in 2021–which is the director's cut of 2017's Justice League.
A recent casting announcement revealed that David Corenswet will play Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan will play Lois Lane in the upcoming James Gunn DC superhero film titled Superman: Legacy to be released in the summer of 2025.
Corenswet is known for his work in two Netflix series created by Ryan Murphy—The Politician and Hollywood.
Brosnahan played the lead character of Miriam "Midge" Maisel in Amazon Prime's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel–for which she won a Primetime Emmy.
Taking to Twitter, Gunn said of the new stars joining the DC universe:
"They are not only both incredible actors, but also wonderful people."
But what had Twitter baffled was the fact one social media user nailed it when sharing their prediction of who would play the iconic characters for a future reboot of the franchise.
On December 1, 2020, Twitter user Kunal B tweeted:
"A #Superman reboot starring David Corenswet as Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane."
"Let it be linked to Matt Reeves Batman franchise (not directly, just in the same universe)."
The tweet resurfaced when news of Corenswet and Brosnahan being cast in their iconic roles was announced.
Needless to say, people's minds were blown over Kunal B's confirmed Hollywood prophecy.
According to Deadline, Corenswet and Brosnahan were cast after being among the few hopefuls to be selected to test in full costume and makeup as their characters in front of DC co-chairs Peter Safran and Gunn.
The director is in the process of searching for an actor to portray Superman's nemesis Lex Luthor in addition to other supporting roles.
