Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence announced their engagement on social media to the delight of their comedian fathers' fans.

Martin Lawrence’s daughter, Jasmin Lawrence, and Eddie Murphy’s son, Eric Murphy, are officially engaged!

The couple, together for over three years, announced the happy news on Instagram with a romantic video featuring Eric’s candlelit proposal, set to Eric Benét’s Spend My Life with You.

Eric, the eldest of Eddie’s 10 children, and Jasmin, Martin’s firstborn of three, are now set to merge two iconic comedy dynasties.

Jasmin and Eric shared their excitement in the caption:

“We’re engaged!! God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter ❤️❤️.”

Jasmin has spoken about their strong bond, telling InTouch Weekly in 2022 that their similar backgrounds brought them close. Despite their famous fathers starring in films like Life and Boomerang together, it was Jasmin’s uncle who introduced them.

Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence both support the relationship, with Murphy joking earlier this year: “They look amazing together… Our gene pool is going to make this funny baby.”

Fans celebrated the happy news.

Marvel Just Confirmed That Chris Evans Is Returning For 'Avengers: Doomsday'—And Fans Have Mixed Feelings

Folks, once again, continuity is more of a suggestion than a rule in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel has officially confirmed that Chris Evans is returning as Steve Rogers in Avengers: Doomsday, and the internet has responded exactly how you’d expect: screaming, celebrating, arguing, and a very justified side-eye toward how Sam Wilson keeps getting treated.

The confirmation comes via a teaser now playing exclusively in theaters ahead of Avatar: Fire and Ash. There is no official online release, despite leaks circulating. If you didn’t catch it on the big screen, Marvel’s response is essentially: sorry, guess you had to be there.
