GOP Account Hit With Blunt Reminder After Shaming Dems For Celebrating Tesla's Downfall

The House Judiciary GOP X account shared a clip of Tim Walz celebrating Tesla's stock plummeting to shame Democrats for "CHEERING for American companies to fail"—and was quickly reminded of its own past tweets.

Minnesota Democratic Governor and former vice presidential candidate Tim Walz joined many Americans in a bit of schadenfreude regarding White House advisor Elon Musk’s recent reversal of fortune.

Musk, the self-described leader of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has seen protests against his actions on behalf of Republican President Donald Trump. Part of those protests include Tesla owners getting rid of their vehicles, buyers boycotting the brand, and stockholders dumping their shares.

Walz shared with a Wisconsin audience how seeing Musk’s stock plummet gives him a boost.

But the GOP's portion of the House Judiciary Committee—through their "House Judiciary GOP" X account—took exception to Walz's amusement.

The House Judiciary Committee is chaired by controversial Ohio Republican Representative Jim Jordan, who recently attended the NCAA Division 1 wrestling national championship with Elon Musk.

The Judiciary committee's Republican members posted:

"Democrats are CHEERING for American companies to fail."
"Disgusting behavior."

The post was almost immediately tagged with a community note stating:

"This same account has also cheered for the downfall of American companies."

The context included a link to a May 2023 post by the House Judiciary GOP account which said:

"Bud Light."
" Disney."
"Target."
"Go WOKE. Go BROKE."

Other X users also pointed out the GOP's hypocrisy.

As of this writing, the House Judiciary GOP post is still up on X—with the added community context.

Whether or not X owner Elon Musk censors that community note remains to be seen.

Trump Dragged After Making Ridiculous Claim About Randomly Finding Billions On The 'Tariff Shelf'

President Donald Trump was criticized after he claimed to reporters this week that officials in his administration suddenly found $30 billion they "never knew existed"—located on what Trump referred to as the "tariff shelf."

Tariffs are a tax on imported goods, usually calculated as a percentage of the purchase price. While tariffs can shield domestic manufacturers by making foreign products more expensive, they are also used as a tool to penalize countries engaged in unfair trade practices, such as government subsidies or dumping goods below market value.

Bride's Friends Surprise Her With Montage Video Of All Her Exes At Bachelorette Party—And People Are Mortified

While Jenny Han's novel To All the Boys I've Loved Before was a major hit, and even became a great film success in 2018, not everyone's married to the idea of reconnecting with their exes after the relationships end.

It might be nice to imagine staying friends after the relationships, imagining our exes missing us or regretting losing us, or even giving us an apology for the things they did wrong. But most of us pine for this for a little while, realize it's all a fairy tale, and push past it to better things and new love.
