The Oscar winner gave a special shoutout to the LGTBQ+ community during the 'Drag Isn't Dangerous' telethon.

Academy Award-winning actor Charlize Theron publicly threw her support behind the LGBTQ+ community, vowing she would "f**k anybody up" who tries to take away LGBTQ+ rights.

Theron made the powerful statement during the Drag Isn't Dangerous telethon, which was organized to combat the wave of anti-LGBTQ+ laws being proposed across the United States, including efforts to ban drag in public spaces.

Theron, who has a transgender daughter, expressed her unwavering support for the community in a pre-recorded appearance, stating she is in their corner and will defend them from anyone who tries to harm them.

You can hear what Theron said in the video below.

Theron said:

“We love you queens. We’re in your corner and we’ve got you, and I will f**k anybody up who’s trying to fuck with anything with you guys."

Theron then pointed to the very real threat of gun violence in America, adding:

“There are so many things hurting and really killing our kids and we all know what I’m talking about right now, and it ain’t no drag queen—because if you’ve ever seen a drag queen lip sync for her life, it only makes you happier, it only make you love more, it makes you a better person.”

Many have praised Theron's allyship while condemning attacks against the LGBTQ+ community.

The Drag Isn't Dangerous telethon raised funds for GLAAD, GLSEN, Headcount, Black Queer Town Hall, The ACLU Drag Defense Fund, Trans Justice Funding Project and Victory Fund.

As of this writing they raised more than $565,000.

The telethon featured appearances by a number of Drag Race legends, including Jinkx Monsoon, as well as popular film and television stars Leslie Jones, Amy Schumer and Melissa McCarthy.

Academy Award and Tony Award-winning actor Marcia Gay Harden also appeared to condemn the "fear-based" rhetoric driving the current anti-LGBTQ+ panic.

Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national who arrived in the U.S. in 2012, was labeled a threat in 2019 due to an alleged connection to MS-13. He spent months in detention before an immigration judge found he had a credible fear of persecution—not from MS-13, but from a rival group, Barrio 18, which he said had been extorting his family.
