McDonald's' New Purple 'Demon Sauce' Has 'KPop Demon Hunters' Fans Doing A Spit Take

As part of their KPop Demon Hunters-themed meal options, McDonald's unveiled a purple "Demon Sauce" for their McNuggets—and the internet is having a field day.

McDonald's is doing a collaboration with KPop Demon Hunters, and people haven't talked about a pop culture restaurant menu partnership as much as this one since, probably, The Grinch or Shrek, both of which also rocked bright, unrealistic food coloring.

Next month, the KPop Demon Hunters X McDonald's menu items will appear at most United States locations, at some locations in Korea, and there are rumors of at least some of the menu items turning up in other countries, as well.

The collaboration has been specifically designed for the fans, giving fans the opportunity to collect rare character cards and also to "choose teams" between the Demon Hunters and the Saja Boys.

The breakfast menu item is perfect for the Saja Boys fans and is called the Spicy Saja McMuffin sandwich, which is a traditional sausage McMuffin, egg, and a spicy "Saja" sauce, paired with a small drink and hash browns.

There's also a dessert item for the Demon Hunters called the "Derpy McFlurry," which is a vanilla-based soft serve with berry-flavored boba pearls and wild berry sauce drizzled throughout, perfectly purple to pair with the supernatural tiger in the film, Derpy Tiger.

But the star of the show is the adult menu option of a 10-piece chicken nugget meal. The HUNTR/X Meal is a 10-piece McNugget meal with a medium drink, fries, and two kinds of sauce.

The fries are called the Ramyeon McShaker fries, which are accompanied with a small bowl of soy, garlic, sesame, and spice seasoning, which customers can pour their fries into and shake up to season.

The two sauces accompanying the meal are the Hunter sauce, which is a sweet chili sauce, and the Demon sauce, which is a bright purple sauce with a bold mustard flavor. In early reviews, both of these sauces have paired well with fries and with the McNuggets.

Are you gonna get it??? I was blown away by the flavors and how unique it is! Such a cool adult happy meal with mc shaker fries, nuggets, purple sauce, and a boba McFlurry #kpopdemonhunters #mcdonalds #happymeal #fastfood #mcflurry

Fans can get behind this collaboration, and the early reviews have been resoundingly positive. However, one of the early reveals has left some raising an eyebrow while others cannot help but side-eye the campaign.

With the menu options arranged methodically in the background, a person reaches in and scoops a McNugget in the Demon sauce, now boldly purple.

The copy of the campaign, shared by Funko POP, reads:

"KPop Demon Hunters fans, Jinu about to put some of that demon sauce on your nuggets."

Some were left side-eyeing the purple sauce.

Millennials were reminded of similar menu items from their childhood.

This collaboration is fun and is definitely meant for the fans to go out and have a good time while enjoying one of their favorite films about inclusion and being true to yourself. Maybe the copy was an interesting choice and the sauce was a little unnecessarily purple, but whether we want to admit it or not, most of us who try it are going to love it.

Dem Rep. Hilariously Trolls Trump Official For Having No Idea How Solar Power Works In Viral Clip

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum was trolled by California Democratic Representative Jared Huffman after he, testifying before the House Natural Resources Committee, seemed to think solar panels are unreliable because they don't work when the sun goes down.

The sun produces heat and light through solar, or electromagnetic, radiation. Solar energy technologies capture that radiation and convert it into usable power. The two primary forms of solar technology are photovoltaics (PV) and concentrating solar-thermal power (CSP).
