Adam Scott Reveals Poignant Reason He Doesn't Watch 'Parks & Rec'—And We're Sobbing

Adam Scott in 'Parks & Rec'
NBC

The Severance star revealed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast why he hasn't watched an episode of the beloved NBC comedy "in a long time"—and we totally get it.

Actor Adam Scott opened up about why he doesn't watch his former TV series, Parks and Recreation, which completed its seven-season run on NBC ten years ago.

His response was wholesome and totally understandable.

The 51-year-old star of the Apple TV+ series Severance dropped by Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast and reflected fondly on playing awkward state auditor Ben Wyatt, who eventually became the love interest of Amy Poehler's character Leslie Knope.

After being shown a clip featuring him as Ben in a scene with Rob Lowe's character, Chris Traeger, Scott revealed he "hadn't seen that in a really long time."

When Horowitz asked what the actor remembers from working on the show, Scott responded:

"I haven't seen the show in a long time, honestly because it makes me sad to see the show, because I miss them and I miss all the actors even though we’re constantly in touch and stuff, but I miss the time of making it."

He continued:

"It was a really just joyful five years—for me, seven years for the show—getting to go work there every day with that group of people."

Scott joined the cast as a guest star for the show's second season in 2010 and became a main character for the remainder of the series, which ended in February 2015.

"We had so much fun and we’re making something that meant something to people; it meant something to us,” he added.

Fans on the Entertainment subReddit were moved by his sweet response.

Scott was content with how the series ended but seemed open to a potential reunion with the cast.

“The show itself, the series finale kind of took us to the end. It jumped pretty far ahead into the future, so I’m not sure what else there is to add, but it’s entirely not up to me at all."

He told People magazine how much he misses his fellow castmates, including Rashida Jones, Nick Offerman, Aziz Ansari, Paul Schneider, Aubrey Plaza, and Chris Pratt, all of whom still remain in touch after the show wrapped ten years ago.

Said Scott:

"I miss everybody. We all are on a text chain, and at least once a week we all add to the chain, and it's great. Everyone's so great. I really miss them."
"They're the best. It was so fun. No one took it for granted. We all had a blast... I know people say that about their shows."

"It's annoying, but it really was so fun, and everyone ... got that it was special, and no one was sick of going to work," he added.

Not "annoying" at all, Adam. We miss seeing you guys in Pawnee too.

Ted Cruz Clashes With 'Crazy' MTG Over Her Cryptic Post Alluding That 'The Jews' Are Trying To Kill Her

Texas MAGA Republican Senator Rafael "Ted" Cruz raised eyebrows when he attacked Georgia QAnon/MAGA Republican Representative and conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) for being antisemitic.

MTG has promoted some antisemitic conspiracy theories in the past, like Jewish space lasers that control the weather or start wildfires, but this time people are calling Cruz out for reaching in an attempt to discredit the Georgia Republican and protect Trump from what's being concealed in FBI, Department of Justice, and court records relating to the indictment of Jeffrey Epstein on charges of sex trafficking of minors.
