102-Year-Old Woman Makes History By Skydiving—And For A Good Cause 😮

Irene O'Shea set a world record for a tandem skydiving jump on Sunday.


O'Shea beat the standing record by Kenneth Meyer who was "only" 102 years and 172 days old in when he set the record in 2017. O'Shea beat him by 22 days of age.

Not only was the 14,000-foot jump a record setter, it also supported a good cause. The jump was done to bring awareness to ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease, the same disease that sparked the ice bucket challenge four years ago. O'Shea's daughter passed away ten years ago from the devastating disease. This is the third jump O'Shea has made for the Motor Neurone Disease Association of South Australia. She began skydiving for her 100th birthday in 2016.
