Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok, developed by xAI as a competitor to ChatGPT, has been gaining attention for its comprehensive understanding of gender identity, surpassing even Musk's own views on the subject.

The closed beta testing for Grok, exclusively available to premium X users (formerly Twitter premium), commenced in November.

This advanced AI has managed to upset right-wing transphobes by providing thoughtful explanations of gender identity, earning it the label of being "woke."

In a notable interaction, a user questioned whether trans women are real women, to which Grok confidently responded:

"Yes."

Despite the user deeming the answer "incorrect," Grok went on to elaborate on the concept of gender as a social construct, asserting that trans people are, in fact, the gender they identify with.

The generated response emphasized the fluidity of gender, accommodating individuals who identify as transgender, non-binary, or gender nonconforming.

Attempting to challenge the AI, other transphobic users questioned whether biologically male individuals who dress as women can be considered women.

In response, Grok highlighted the importance of respecting self-identified gender regardless of biological sex or attire.

And it emphasized the complexity and personal nature of the concept of gender.

Allies everywhere were delighted.

Grok distinguishes itself from other AI models by accessing real-time knowledge through the X platform, formerly known as Twitter.

Developed over two months, Grok operates on a robust infrastructure using Kubernetes, Rust, and JAX, focusing on scalable, efficient, and reliable training and inference systems.

Grok is designed to tackle "spicy" questions that most other AI systems won’t touch.
