Elon Musk Mocked For Hilariously Wrong Prediction About Matt Gaetz—And Yeah, That Did Not Age Well

After Matt Gaetz dropped out of contention for Trump's Attorney General post, a hilariously over the top Elon Musk post about Gaetz resurfaced.

After former Florida congressman Matt Gaetz dropped out of contention for President-elect Donald Trump's Attorney General post, a hilariously over the top post from billionaire Elon Musk—who is tapped to lead Trump's "Department" of Government Efficiency—resurfaced that showcases how wrong Musk was about Gaetz's future within the second Trump administration.

Gaetz was previously the subject of a Justice Department investigation into alleged sex trafficking involving a 17-year-old girl and has faced scrutiny from the House Ethics Committee over accusations of sexual misconduct. However, that inquiry effectively concluded last week when Gaetz announced his resignation from Congress.

He has consistently denied any misconduct, asserting last year that the Justice Department concluded its investigation into allegations of sex trafficking involving underage girls without filing federal charges against him. Republicans on the House Ethics Committee voted to block the release of their report on Gaetz, although Democrats intend to ultimately push for its release.

Trump accepted Gaetz’s decision to withdraw on Thursday—and that means the following prediction, which Musk made just three days ago, has already aged like milk:

"Matt Gaetz has 3 critical assets that are needed for the AG role: a big brain, a spine of steel and an axe to grind. He is the Judge Dredd America needs to clean up a corrupt system and put powerful bad actors in prison."
"Gaetz will be our Hammer of Justice."

Musk was swiftly mocked.

Trump has expressed his intent to use the judicial system as a means of seeking “retribution” against those he believes have wronged him. Karoline Leavitt, a spokesperson for Trump’s transition team, stated on Thursday that the president-elect is “committed” to selecting an attorney general who will “strongly defend the Constitution and end the weaponization of our justice system.”

Trump has already selected Pam Bondi to be his replacement nominee. Bondi, who previously served as Florida's Attorney General—dedicating time to weaken and overturn the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and opposed to expanding LGBTQ+ rights protections—was also a member of Trump's impeachment defense team.

Bondi, who also declined to prosecute Trump University after students of Trump's for-profit venture alleged they'd been cheated, has backed Trump's lies about the integrity of the 2020 election, insisting that "fake ballots" for President Joe Biden had been found in tabulation centers.

Fox News Guest Has Blunt Reminder About Trump After Sean Hannity Asks About Biden's 'Cognitive Decline'

Fox News personality Sean Hannity was widely mocked after guest commentator Stephanie Miller gave him more than he bargained for with her response to his question about when she first noticed former President Joe Biden's "cognitive decline."

President Donald Trump and Republicans have long questioned Biden's cognitive fitness for office to draw attention from Trump's own gaffes. Earlier this week, Trump made headlines for claiming "no one knows what magnets are" during an Oval Office exchange. He has also continued to attract attention for falling asleep during events.
