Jay Leno Hit With Backlash After Making Cringey Joke About Jeremy Renner's Snowplow Accident

The former late night host's Twitter joke poking fun at his own recent motorcyle crash didn't sit well with fans.

Jay Leno's latest attempt at humor fell quite flat amongst his Twitter followers.

While attempting to poke fun at his own injuries, the former late night host made a bad-landing joke about Jeremy Renner's horrific New Year's Day snowplow accident from which he still has "a long road to recovery."

Leno, who is recovering himself from burns suffered from a gasoline fire in his garage in November, was involved in a motorcycle accident on January 17, leaving him with a broken collarbone, two broken ribs and and two cracked kneecaps.

Striving to make light of his own situation, Leno tweeted last week:

"I was riding my motorcycle up in Lake Tahoe and I came around the corner and bam, I crashed into Jeremy Renner's snowplow."

Renner broke over 30 bones when he was crushed under his snowplow while trying to save his nephew from the moving 14,300 pound vehicle.

He continues to receive therapy and recover at home.

The Twitterverse felt Leno's "joke" was in poor taste, at the very least.

Of his accident, Leno explained to Las Vegas Review Journal:

"So I turned down a side street and cut through a parking lot, and unbeknownst to me, some guy had a wire strung across the parking lot but with no flag hanging from it."
"So, you know, I didn't see it until it was too late. It just clotheslined me and, boom, knocked me off the bike."
"The bike kept going, and you know how that works out."

Yikes!

We wish both Leno and Renner well in their continued recovery.

Ted Cruz Clashes With 'Crazy' MTG Over Her Cryptic Post Alluding That 'The Jews' Are Trying To Kill Her

Texas MAGA Republican Senator Rafael "Ted" Cruz raised eyebrows when he attacked Georgia QAnon/MAGA Republican Representative and conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) for being antisemitic.

MTG has promoted some antisemitic conspiracy theories in the past, like Jewish space lasers that control the weather or start wildfires, but this time people are calling Cruz out for reaching in an attempt to discredit the Georgia Republican and protect Trump from what's being concealed in FBI, Department of Justice, and court records relating to the indictment of Jeffrey Epstein on charges of sex trafficking of minors.

After far-right provocateur Nick Adams suggested that the singer, a fierce critic of the Trump administration, should not have been chosen for the halftime gig, California Governor Gavin Newsom's press office took to X to mock him in the account's now familiar Trump-esque style.
