Massachusetts Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley has been busying herself this week with an appearance in Cambridge on Monday to protest Donald Trump's national emergency to fund for his border wall.

At some point during her busy week, she ran out of contact lenses and resorted to wearing bifocals in public. No big deal, right?

However, the bespectacled Pressley elicited admiration for flawlessly pulling off the look and prompted a special request.

She ran into a mother whose 9-year-old hates wearing glasses. So she asked the Congresswoman to post a selfie with her glasses on to encourage her daughter that spectacles are awesome.

The Boston Representative – who was the first black woman elected to the Boston City council in 2009 and became Massachusett's first black Congresswoman in 2018 – honored the mother's request.

The posted photo became a Twitter moment and gave us all a much-needed dose of the feels.

Pressley tweeted:

"So. I ran out of lenses & had no choice but to wear these in public, something I never, ever do, although I've been rockin' bifocals since 2nd grade. Ran into a mom who asked me to post this pic for her 9yr old who hates her new glasses."

She also gave a shout-out to her fellow Congresswomen who normally rock the bespectacled look: Lauren Underwood, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Rashida Tlaib.

Twitter embraced the Boston Representative's rare look.

The thread became an inspirational representation of people who are proud of sporting spectacles.

It's not just the ladies who pride themselves on their lenses.

This young girl knows she is not alone in wearing glasses. And she even has several pairs to boot...if she can find them.

The demonstration in Cambridge Pressley spoke at was titled, "Presidents Day Protest to Fight Trump's fake Crisis and Racist Deportation Forces," and was organized by the liberal advocacy group Cambridge Area Stronger Together.

She castigated Donald Trump's declaration of the national emergency and told the gathering crowd:

"I think he has lost all moral authority to continue to serve in this role. I took an oath of office to defend the American people and the Constitution against all threats, foreign and domestic — and he is a hell of a threat."

Hopefully, that 9-year-old girl will ignore the stigma and realize she is in good company.

There is no shame in seeing things clearly and potentially becoming our leaders with a clear vision.

Space Force Commander Fired Over Email Criticizing Vance's Greenland Comments

Vice President J.D. Vance and the wider Trump administration are facing criticism now that Colonel Susan Meyers was removed from her post as commander at Greenland's Pituffik Space Base after breaking with Vance in an email she wrote following his controversial visit to the island territory.

Greenland is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, alongside the Faroe Islands, the only other autonomous territory within the Kingdom. Citizens of both Greenland and the Faroe Islands are full citizens of Denmark. As one of the Overseas Countries and Territories of the European Union, Greenland’s citizens are also recognized as EU citizens.

Karoline Leavitt Dragged After Making Mind-Numbing Claim About Trump's Tariffs Reversal

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is getting called out after she attempted to justify President Donald Trump's sudden reversal on his proposed tariffs, telling reporters that his actions make sense because he has a master plan to make the world bend the knee.

Trump declared a full 90-day suspension of all the “reciprocal” tariffs that took effect at midnight April 10—except for those on China—in a dramatic about-face from a president who had long championed his historically high tariff rates as permanent.
