Twitter Employee Resigns With An Epic Cake Design—And Musk's Not Gonna Be Happy About It

Twitter brand strategist Chelsey Leader Brooks used an error message on the social platform as her cake design to say 'goodbye.'

It's not a secret that being an employee at Twitter in the past year has been a bit of a rollercoaster, with Elon Musk's takeover of the company and immediate overhaul of the corporate structure, then subsequent brand fallout.

One now ex-Twitter employee left her position as Twitter brand strategist recently, but managed to make one last message as her goodbye.

Chelsey Leader Brooks posted a tweet that contained a screenshot of the most recent of Twitter's whirligig of issues, the "Rate Limit Exceeded" message from last week's limiting of reading Tweets in the platform's dedicated mobile apps. It's not the kindest note to end on, but probably the most honest.

The pun, of course, being that her own Rate Limit was possibly exceeded by her time there, among other possible interpretations.

Brooks also tagged her post #LoveWhereYouWorked, which is a hashtag shared by many former Twitter employees on their last tweets while still employed by the platform. The hashtag is a reference to the story of Lucy Mosley, a UK Twitter employee who passed from cancer in 2013.

The hashtags #LoveWhereYouWork and #LoveWhereYouWorked since took off as a traditional farewell whenever people leave the company.

There were those who worked with Chelsea who were genuinely sad about saying goodbye to a coworker.

Others, however, caught onto the joke she used on the cake.

And they congratulated her on her visual pun.

Some folks were just there for the cake.

Really, someone said, it's up there with the best.

Truly, the former Twitter employee deserves accolades.

The cake was from Copenhagen Bakery.
