Trevor Holmes on 'American Idol': Everything You Need to Know

Trevor Holmes certainly caught Katy Perry's attention when he made his American Idol debut on March 12.

The 27-year-old is a construction worker. He admits construction is something he's not fond of, but it's necessary to support his mother, who suffers from Lupus.

During his audition, Holmes isn't able to get through talking about his background before Perry chimes in, "You're so hot."

Holmes has already racked up over 158k followers on Instagram since appearing on the show. He also has a Youtube page that boasts over 50,000 subscribers. You can check out all his videos here.

He Was on 'Good Morning America' Recently

Trevor and his girlfriend, Sierra, appeared on GMA last week. Asked how his life has changed since he received the ticket to Hollywood, Holmes said, "Man, it's been so surreal. It's one of those things you always kind of dream about. And then it actually happens. I have to pinch myself."

Asked what it was like having Katy Perry lose her mind over her boyfriend, Sierra said, "I was fully supportive of it. We all have our celebrity crushes but it was really funny because when they asked me to run in I was just beelining for him because I was so excited for him and I had no idea that I even cut Katy off."

Holmes is a native of Thousand Oaks and has been performing professionally in LA for years. Speaking to ABC about his audition for the show, Holmes said, "These are people that I've looked up to for a long time, so to have to go in there and face them and sing to them, it's like you can't really put it into words, but you'll have to tune in to see what happens."

It's unclear whether or not Holmes is still in the reality singing competition. Fans will have to see how the show unfolds over the next few weeks to see if the singer has what it takes to become the next American Idol.
