Are there any two people better suited to be friends than Oscar the Grouch and Roy Kent, the surly, smoldering, often growling footballer turned assistant coach of AFC Richmond on the Emmy award winning series Ted Lasso?

They certainly seem like a match made in grouch heaven based on a recent video shared by Sesame Street on their Twitter page.

The clip was a short teaser of an upcoming episode of the landmark children's series on which Brett Goldstein, the Emmy-award winning actor who brought Roy Kent to life, will guest star.

In the 16-second clip, Big Bird could be seen humming along as he walked down the iconic street, eventually passing by their resident, lovable grouch Oscar in a blue recycling bin.

Sitting in the adjacent garbage can was Goldstein, appearing to be in character as England's favorite grouch, Roy Kent.

When Big Bird remarked on what a beautiful day it was to the grumpy duo, they both looked at each other with a shake of the head and a roll of the eyes—Roy Kent's iconic growl being faintly heard—before both submerging into their respective bins.

The brief clip was met with excitement and delight from fans of both Sesame Street and Ted Lasso, eager for Goldstein's upcoming visit and for how perfect a pair Oscar the Grouch and Roy Kent appeared to be.

No one was more excited about Goldstein's visit than Goldstein—a self-proclaimed Muppet enthusiastwho shared on Twitter he met his "kindred spirit" during his recent visit.

Goldstein went into even greater detail on just how meaningful the experience was for him to live out his Muppet dreams, in a heartfelt Instagram post.

"Brett, how would you show the best day of your life using only photos..."
"I finally found my way to 'Sesame Street', (all you have to do is ask, through the medium of song) and it was more wonderful than I could have imagined."
"Everyone was so funny and brilliant and friendly and kind."

Goldstein went on to say he met all of Sesame Street's most famous residents, with the post featuring pictures of his introductions to Big Bird, Bert and Ernie and Cookie Monster.

He did not manage to meet Snuffleupagus, however, whom Goldstein claimed was "sleeping".

Goldstein's sweet and touching post apparently moved his Ted Lasso co-star Hannah Waddingham to tears, over the moon Goldstein saw his dream of working with the residents of Sesame Street become a reality.

While fans of Ted Lasso will have to wait for the show's third (and apparently final) season, as a premiere date has yet to be announced, they will also need to wait for Goldstein’s full episode of Sesame Street.

Goldstein wrote in his Instagram post it would be "later this year", thus hopefully quenching the thirst of Roy Kent's biggest fans before AFC Richmond's season resumes.

Man Goes Viral After 3D-Printing A 6-Pound Phone Case To Combat Screen Addiction

Many Millennials will remember back in the nineties as the last of the "latchkey kids" who were prominently babysat by their televisions, and the commercials that rolled out, made popular on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, promoting kids to go play outside instead of watching TV all day.

Now in 2025, videos on Instagram and TikTok encouraging people to "pause their scroll" and to "put down their phones" are becoming more common and popular, because people are realizing how detrimental our increasing screen time is to our emotional, physical, and psychological health.

Woman Sparks Heated Debate After Encouraging People To Smile At Walmart Greeters

There's an old saying that goes, "It costs nothing to be kind."

Smiling at a stranger, saying hi back to a young and socialable child, holding a door for someone, and maybe even exchanging a pleasantry or two at the checkout line costs nothing more than a few words passing our lips and showing a little kindness.
