The singer made an empowering change to her personal song for her Las Vegas residency following her divorce from Brandon Blackstock.

Kelly Clarkson made some notable changes to her song "Piece by Piece" following her 2020 divorce from Brandon Blackstock after seven years of marriage—and fans at her Las Vegas residency took notice.

Videos of the Grammy winner performing the altered lyrics have gone viral, and fans are celebrating Clarkson's recognition of her own strength.

The OG American Idol winner wrote the 2015 song about her father who walked out on her family when Clarkson was just a child.

The original lyrics were:

“But piece by piece, he collected me up / Off the ground, where you abandoned things, yeah / Piece by piece, he filled the holes that you burned in me / At six years old.”

Viewers of her recent performance, though, noticed the singer replaced "he" with "I."

And those weren't the only changes.

What once was:

“He never walks away / He never asks for money / He takes care of me / He loves me"

Is now:

“I just walk away / when they ask for money / I take care of me / ’cause I love me.”

Former GOP Senator Gets Brutal Wakeup Call After Criticizing People For Playing 'Candy Crush' Instead Of 'Making Babies'

Ben Sasse represented Nebraska in the United States Senate from 2015 to 2023. As a Midwestern moderate, the sometimes controversial Sasse was often critical of MAGA Republican President Donald Trump on social media and on the Senate floor.

At one point, the Nebraska GOP censured him because of his criticism of Trump. But Sasse, like Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins, would still vote with the majority of his party when his vote was needed to back Trump's agenda.
