Devotees of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are some of the most rabidly dedicated fans around, and they have no shortage of opinions—as actor Jameela Jamil recently learned firsthand.

The alum of NBC's The Good Place is starring in the upcoming Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law as villain Titania.

But when a first-look photo hit social media showing Jamil in a disheveled wig? Well you know fans weren't about to let that go.

They threw plenty of shade at her messy-looking hair, which Jamil defended in a playful clapback on Twitter, seen below.

In defense of her hair, Jamil said:

"Omg this photo..💀😂"
"Guys... I accept every ounce of shade here, but in defense of my excellent hair stylist, this is just my hair after a 14 hour stunt day in atlanta heat."
"Just after being upside down. She did a *great* job on the show I promise. I love her. Boobs look ok tho?"

The comments below the original post from Pop Crave were filled with criticisms about Jamil's hair, some of which were hilariously shady--hence Jamil laughing along.

One fan joked that the hair and makeup budget on the show must have run out before they got to Jamil.

Another dragged the wig as having come from costume and decor shop Party City--a stone-cold drag if there ever was one!

And another roasted the entire look, calling it "SheinHulk," a reference to the fast-fashion company Shein, known for its low-quality designer rip-offs.

Jamil later explained to Hollywood Reporter that criticisms aside, she is 100% on fans' sides.

Asked about the wig roasting, she told the trade mag she loved the roasting because it was all in good fun.

“I love the Marvel fan base. I respect them, and I was merely making sure that they knew that I was with them."
"...I never mind any criticism or feedback. As long as it isn’t done in a cruel or toxic way, I’m with the Marvel fan base when they push for more – I’m into it.”

On Twitter, people loved Jamil's response--and she got right in there and cut up along with some of them.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law begins August 17, if you want to see Jamil's wig for yourself.

Jimmy Kimmel Reveals How ABC Almost Hired Jon Stewart Over Him For Late-Night Hosting Gig

During a visit to actor Ted Danson's podcast Where Everybody Knows Your Name, Kimmel revealed that at the time he was in the running to host the show, so was a much bigger colleague: Jon Stewart.

Model Speaks Out After United Airlines Flight Attendant Body-Shamed Her Mid-Flight

Three things are true: many people take flights every day in the U.S., many Americans are overweight, and people often make a habit of offering completely unsolicited advice to larger individuals in completely the wrong way and in utterly inappropriate circumstances.

Supermodel Tess Holliday was unfortunately the victim of all of these elements converging during a recent flight with her child on United Airlines.

Young Girl's School Presentation About Her 'Hero' Charlie Kirk Has People Sounding Off

MAGA X user @sola_chad sparked a heated debate after sharing footage of his daughter's school presentation about an "inspiring hero"—none other than the late far-right activist Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was assassinated last month while speaking at a university in Utah; the suspect was caught after a two-day manhunt and has since been charged. The Trump administration has used Kirk's death as an opportunity to crack down on free speech rights and to target and blame leftists for Kirk's murder, even though the shooter is aligned with the far-right.

MAGA Actor Rob Schneider Gets Blunt Fact-Check After Making Bonkers Claim About Children's Hospitals

Actor Rob Schneider was bluntly fact-checked after making the bizarre claim that children's hospitals did not exist when he was a child himself, suggesting that kids "weren't sick" back then.

That claim is par for the course from Schneider, a prominent anti-vaxxer who once campaigned against a bill in California requiring parents to get a doctor's signature if they choose not to vaccinate their children and was dropped from a State Farm ad campaign after claiming, among other things, that vaccines are "against the Nuremberg laws."
