Democratic Congresswoman Grace Meng of New York appeared on CNN's New Day on Thursday, March 18, to respond to the racist anti-Asian sentiment that came to a head with this week's shooting in Atlanta, Georgia.

On the air, Meng played several bigotted voicemails she's received which baselessly connect her, an Asian American woman, to the global pandemic.

Meng also shared several recordings on Twitter.

The New York Congresswoman called out Republicans who have villified Asians in the eyes of their constituents.

Twitter was disgusted by the racism Meng and other Asians have been forced to confront.

Meng used these messages to demonstrate how President Trump's hateful rhetoric surrounding the virus has affected Asians.

Hopefully Meng's efforts wake some CNN viewers up to the racist treatment many Asians face in the United States.

Following the eight deaths in Atlanta this past Tuesday, March 16, America is working through its treatment of Asians and coming to terms with the racism that so often goes unnoticed or is denied by the majority.

Dunn was employed by Office of International Affairs within the department's Criminal Division as a paralegal.
