Curtis shared a selfie with Lohan on Instagram, noting her hope that the duo can 'switch places again in the near future' with the SAG-AFTRA strike over.

Jamie Lee Curtis celebrated the ending of the SAG/AFTRA strike that resulted in a months-long pause in Hollywood by teasing that she and a former costar could reunite for a future film.

On Friday following the official conclusion of the SAG/AFTRA strike on November 9, the Academy Award winner posted a selfie photo with Lindsay Lohan, with whom she co-starred in the 2003 film Freaky Friday.

The Disney comedy film was the third movie adaptation based on Mary Rodgers' 1972 novel of the same name about a teenage daughter and her mom magically switching bodies and spending the day gaining perspectives from their different points of view.

Curtis captioned the photo of them with:

"Too late. YOU GREW UP and SO BEAUTIFULLY!"
"Well, it's Friday, and the strike is over so hopefully, we can switch places again in the near future!"

Fans, indeed, freaked out.

In May, on the 20th anniversary of the 2003 Freaky Friday's release, The New York Times confirmed a sequel was happening with a screenplay written by Elyse Hollander and with both stars set to reprise their roles.

While Curtis was on a promotion tour last year for the latest Halloween film in the franchise, she said:

“As I went around the world with ‘Halloween Ends,’ people wanted to know if there was going to be another ‘Freaky Friday.'"
“Something really touched a chord. When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, ‘It feels like there’s a movie to be made.’”

Curtis teased about a sequel again in February, telling Variety:

“It’s going to happen. Without saying there’s anything official happening, I’m looking at you in this moment and saying, ‘Of course it’s going to happen.’"
"It’s going to happen.”

That same month, Curtis posted another photo with Lohan and wrote:

“It’s Friday. I’m just sayin! Freaky fingers crossed!””

Lohan responded to her movie mom's post with emojis of crossed fingers, a smiley face with heart eyes, and two hands up.

And last November while Curtis attended the Los Angeles premiere for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, she told the outlet:

“There is no scheduled date, but we’re talking. People are talking. The right people are talking.”
“I’m 64 in a week and Lindsay is 36…[A sequel] lends itself so beautifully, We’re both committed to it, and it’s not ours to make."
"It’s Disney’s to make and I think they’re interested and we’re talking.”
