Billie Eilish Drags People For Criticizing Her Met Gala Outfit—And For A Very Good Reason

The singer shared a video to call out people for saying her look at this year's Met Gala was "trash"—and pointed out that she didn't even attend the Met Gala.

Blamed if you do, blamed if you don’t.

Billie Eilish has never had an easy time with the media, and this year’s Met Gala was no exception. As always, the Gala delivered headline-worthy fashion: dramatic silhouettes, eyebrow-raising accessories, and people sniping about whose outfits were good, too-weird, and not-weird-enough.

But one unexpected name entered the conversation after the event: Billie Eilish. Online critics began reacting to what they believed was her red carpet look, with some harshly commenting on her outfit.

There was just one problem—she wasn’t there. On the night of the Met Gala, the Grammy winner was performing at Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome on her Hit Me Hard and Soft tour.

The images circulating online were entirely AI-generated, and many fans didn’t realize they weren’t real. After seeing the buzz, Eilish decided to set the record straight in a short video posted online.

Baffled and munching on an ice-cream cone, she cleared the air.

“Seeing people talk about what I wore to this year’s Met Gala being trash… I wasn’t there. That’s AI! I had a show in Europe that night. Let me be! I wasn’t even there!”

Here's the video:

People were surprised that anyone even fell for it.

Others were more positive.

Either way, it’s freaky.

Many people said this was the first they heard of a picture of Eilish at the Gala.

Eilish’s most recent album came out almost exactly a year ago.

While she may not have attended fashion’s biggest night, Eilish has a busy year ahead. She will be touring Europe throughout this coming summer. So, in the future, she probably won't be at many events state-side.

Kyle Rittenhouse Blasted Over Sociopathic Post Following ICE Shooting In Minneapolis

Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse sparked outrage after he offered to travel to Minnesota following ICE's fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good, a mother of three, in Minneapolis on Wednesday.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin claimed Good “weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them.” But Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey pushed back against this narrative considering witnesses described seeing Good in the vehicle trying to flee officers when she was shot.

The heightened attention brought with it a lot of racist and colorist comments about their hair, their skin, and their bodies—especially Serena's more muscular and curvy body.
