If you were anywhere near the internet last week you likely saw the viral video of Adam Sandler leaving an IHOP after a hapless hostess didn't recognize him and tried to make him wait 30 minutes for table.

Well, Sandler has responded to the incident on Twitter, and in true Sandlerian fashion, has put a hilarious spin on the whole thing.

It all came down to milkshakes, you see.

A publicist for the star confirmed it was in fact Sandler in the footage, but beyond that, Sandler has chosen to just chuckle about the situation.

In his tweet, Sandler quipped:

"For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn't apply to the milkshakes."

Fair enough!

Sandler's response is the newest chapter in this saga, which had the internet laughing last week.

It all began with a TikTok posted by IHOP employee Dayanna Rodas, in which she included security footage of her encounter with Sandler.

It was all a simple—but hilarious—mistake.

Rodas failed to recognize the star when he and his daughter came in and relayed to him it would be a 30 minute wait for a table, whereupon Sandler walked out, leaving Rodas deeply embarrassed once she realized what had happened.

Was Sandler truly disappointed he wouldn't be able to gorge himself on delicious IHOP milkshakes? Or was he just trying to avoid having to wait for 30 minutes just to get some pancakes?

We may never know.

But one thing is for sure. Rodas' TikTok has so far been viewed more than 11 million times, so suffice to say the embarrassing moment has resonated.

And so has Sandler's jokey response.
On Twitter, people loved his comedic take on this awkward situation.

Here's hoping Sandler finds the all-you-can-drink milkshake deal of his dreams.

Lil Nas X Speaks Out

Lil Nas X’s summer swerved from chart-topping to chaotic after his arrest in Los Angeles last week. The Grammy-winning “Industry Baby” rapper, born Montero Lamar Hill, found himself in the middle of a late-night spiral that ended with felony charges, a hospital stay, and a video to fans that was equal parts rattled and reassuring.

According to reports from last week, Hill was spotted drifting in and out of a Hollywood hotel before wandering the streets in nothing but underwear and cowboy boots.

Charlie Kirk Slammed After Telling Taylor Swift To 'Submit To Your Husband' Following News Of Her Engagement

Far-right influencer Charlie Kirk put his misogyny and sexism on full display when he responded to the news that Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and musician Taylor Swift are engaged to be married, saying that Swift should now take the opportunity to become "more conservative" and reminding her to "submit to your husband."

Kirk was of course just one of the millions around the country who responded to the news that America's most famous couple will soon tie the knot—but few made comments as openly backward as this.
