Dating apps are the worst. You've said this, your friends have said this, strangers have said this, but every once in awhile, you are reminded of just how bad dating apps are.

This was the case for Katie Lacie, a therapist on TikTok, who had an extremely cringey conversation with a personal trainer on TikTok who insulted her weight.

@katielacie He had the credentials to body shame me though. #onlinedating #tinder #bumble #dating

The trainer immediately said to her that she'd be perfect if she lost weight.

The exact words were:

"You would be perfect if you lost like seven pounds."

The conversation continued after Lacie simply replied "What?"

"Oh I'm sorry, I hope you don't take offence to that," he wrote in a misguided attempt to get his flirting train back on the tracks. "I'm a personal trainer."

"Oh ok, phew! I was offended until I knew you had the credentials to body-shame me."

After asking if they were good, Lacie dropped the bomb on him that made one commenter say they'd just "witnessed a murder."

"You would be perfect if you were a different person."

He then replies, "That's no way to talk to a man," to which she snipes back:

"Oh I'm sorry, I just saw a boy here."

After all of this, he still tried to shoot his shot with Lacie, saying "I know a way you can make it up to me and also lose the weight 😉."

She blocked him following that message.

Folks, take notes, this is how you deal with trolls on your dating apps.

Those people are worth nothing more than a mic drop sarcastic remark.

'Supernanny' Star Jo Frost Warns Of Impact Of Social Media On Kids In Impassioned Plea For UK Ban

At the beginning of 2026, the United Kingdom's House of Lords supported a proposal to prohibit those under 16 from access to social media to include the sites Facebook, X, TikTok, and Instagram. Any such ban would be introduced as an amendment to the government's schools bill.

Childcare author and television personality Jo Frost has now shared her opinion on the proposal. Ironically, on Instagram on Tuesday, Frost made an appeal to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to ban social media for children under 16.
