President Donald Trump had everyone thinking the same thing after the White House shared a photo of him this week from behind at what appears to be a recent Cabinet meeting.
In a monochrome image shared by the White House on X, Trump was photographed from the rear while sitting at the Cabinet table in a tall leather chair. Mounted on the chair were two engraved metal plates listing the dates of his presidential inaugurations.
The post was captioned “45/47” with an American flag emoji, referencing Trump’s return to office after previously serving as the nation’s 45th president and now its 47th.
You can see the post and the photo below.
But why would the White House post a picture of Trump from behind... unless they're trying to hide the fact that he fell asleep again?
Trump has repeatedly had to cover for always falling asleep during meetings and events and regularly rages against anyone who points out obvious signs of age-related decline. Earlier this month, a White House account claimed he was simply "blinking" after Trump appeared to fall asleep during an event on maternal health in the Oval Office.
Earlier this week, Trump—no fan of fallen soldiers—drew criticism after video footage showed he closed his eyes and appeared to fall asleep at a Memorial Day ceremony honoring fallen soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery.
Months ago, Trump explained to New York Magazine that the reason why he's constantly photographed with his eyes closed is not because he's sleeping but because the meetings he attends are "boring as hell."
Trump said he has to "sit back and listen, and I move my hand so that people will know I'm listening" and that while he is "hearing every word," he nonetheless "can't wait to get out."
So chances are this meeting the White House photographed Trump at was in fact another "boring as hell" one—and everyone agreed that the administration is simply hiding the fact that Trump fell asleep as expected.
We wonder if Trump even knows the White House posted this picture of him given how much he sleeps on the job.
