Beer Ads That Were Weirdly Edited Into 'Star Wars' For TV Are Getting Hilariously Roasted

Obi Wan Kenobi; Cerveza Cristal
Disney/Lucasfilm; Cerveza Cristal

A Chilean ad agency's commercials for Cerveza Cristal beer that were hilariously edited into the original 'Star Wars' movies when they aired in the early 2000s have recently resurfaced—and people are obsessed.

Product placement has been a vital part of movies for decades, but it's never been handled quite like it was in Chile back in the 2000s during a TV airing of Star Wars.

Rather than cut the movie to a commercial—like, you know, normal people would—beer company Cerveza Cristal instead edited their beer into scenes in the movie.

The results, which resurfaced on X, aka Twitter, are as hilariously weird as they are sound. See one of the moments below, edited into the scene when Luke Skywalker first meets Obi-Wan Kenobi. We promise you are truly not ready for what you are about to see.

That Cerveza Cristal jingle should just be a part of Star Wars forever from now on, as a tribute to what is absolutely inarguably the funniest thing to ever air on television anywhere in the world.

Except for this moment from Return of the Jedi where Palpatine enjoys a cool Cerveza Cristal before, you know, dying (temporarily anyway).

It may sound hard to believe, but these absurd ads won an at award at the prestigious Cannes International Advertising Festival. Which just makes the whole thing even more hilarious.

Anyway, obviously this immediately turned into a meme on Twitter. Of course, people edited Cerveza Cristal into myriad other Star Wars cinematic universe references.

But they didn't stop there. They edited it into basically every classic film of the last 50 years, like Ghostbusters.

(Personally, I'd have done "no Dana, only CERVEZA CRISTAL!" but that's just me.)

And Indiana Jones and the Temple of Cristal—er, Doom, rather.

And The Godfather.

And Seven.

And Pulp Fiction.

And even A Goofy Movie.

You know, most of the time the internet is a nightmare, but every now and then it justifies its existence with something truly beautiful. Thanks Internet! And Cerveza Cristal, of course.

In the new video titled "How Conservative Women in America Act," Druski appears in heavy prosthetics and makeup, this time portraying a white woman. The character is shown holding a mock press conference about the war in Iran, and giving an interview while clutching a Bible.

Trump Gives Mind-Numbing Reason For Why He Voted By Mail-In Ballot After Railing Against It

Although he regularly claims mail-in ballots are used by Democrats to rig elections, President Donald Trump was called out for voting by mail in Florida's election on Tuesday—and saying it's okay that he did it because he's the "president."

Palm Beach County records show that Trump cast a mail-in ballot earlier this week in the special election for Florida’s House District 87, the district that includes his Mar-a-Lago residence. He also voted by mail in the January primary for the same race.
