Trump's new Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy sported some peculiar shoes while meeting with New Hampshire Gov. Kelly Ayotte—and the internet pounced.

Derek Guy—a Canadian men's fashion industry writer and commentator known as "the menswear guy" on X—had social media users cackling thanks to his cutting roast of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, who sported some peculiar shoes while meeting with New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte to discuss some new Department of Transportation (DOT) initiatives in her state.

Earlier, Ayotte published the following message on X about her meeting with Duffy to discuss "New Hampshire's transportation priorities":

"Great to meet with @SecDuffy today to discuss New Hampshire's transportation priorities, including our efforts to streamline the permitting process to complete critical projects more quickly. I look forward to working with our @USDOT partners to keep New Hampshire moving!"

But what really caught people's attention was Duffy's weird shoes.

Seriously, someone tell us, please: What is up with these shoes? The people need to know.

In swept Guy with this sharp observation:

"these look like the first shoes ever made'

The comments were hilarious.

This is the second time in the last week that Guy has gone viral with remarks about the fashion choices of President Donald Trump's Cabinet picks.

After Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth bragged about his blue suit standing out in a photo of NATO leaders taken at a recent event, Guy said that "historically, this color was only worn in chocolate factories," a reference to the fate that befell Violet Beauregarde, the "blueberry girl" of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Hegseth, who at the time asserted that Ukraine would not regain all of its lost territory from Russia and would not be granted NATO membership, was swiftly mocked for his "America First" menswear as a result. Hegseth has stood firm and not responded to these criticisms.

Treasury Secretary Blasted Over Out-Of-Touch Remark About How Many Homes People Buy For Retirement

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent had people raising their eyebrows after he made an out-of-touch remark at the World Economic Forum about the number of homes people purchase for their retirement, claiming at a time when Americans are struggling with a nationwide cost-of-living crisis that some are purchasing as many as "12 homes" for their golden years.

Bessent described the administration’s strategy to limit the role of large institutional buyers in the single-family housing market, while preserving protections for smaller, independent landlords, including those who rely on rental properties for retirement income.
