This summer, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe would have been married for 20 years had it not been for their divorce 12 years ago. At the current age of 42 (43 in March), Witherspoon was a mere 23 years old when she tied the knot. Not many people know what it's like to get married that young, but Reese got real about what it was like.

When speaking about her young marriage to '90s heartthrob Ryan Phillippe, Witherspoon said,

"I got married when I was 23, and I had two kids by the time I was 27. I think that...it's good to know yourself. I would never change anything. I said to my daughter, [at] 25 you start to know yourself a little bit better."

Reese was actually pregnant with their daughter, Ava, during their wedding. She gave birth 3 months into their marriage.

The pair also had a son, Deacon before they divorced in 2007.

Ryan also hinted that their young age might have contributed to their break up in an interview in 2015.

"I think more of the problem was age. When we got together we were so young."

Despite not remaining married, the pair still remain friends.

Some people still secretly wish that friendship would once again blossom into more.

Oh, how I miss the '90s.
