Pregnant Women Are Starting A Trend Of Applying A Full Face Of Makeup Before Giving Birth

Giving birth is one of the most intense, stressful, painful things any human can go through, which is why a new trend during childbirth may take some people by surprise.

New studies have revealed many women are trying to get their makeup done before giving birth, even to the point of applying it while having contractions.

A study by Cosmetify recently revealed that a 64% of women get some sort of beauty treatments before giving birth.

Their reasons are fairly easy to understand: right after they've given birth, a huge number of photos will be taken, they'll be visited by extended family and friends, and they don't want to look as sick as they almost certainly feel.

While many are pointing out the obvious flaws in a society which makes women feel they need to look good mere moments after giving birth, other women have welcomed the distraction from the pain of labour.

New York makeup artist Alaha Karimi told ABC News:

"I went to the hospital at 7:30 a.m., and I was in labor for a total of 10 hours that day. I had an epidural around 8:30 or 9:00 a.m., so when it started to wear off, I needed something to distract myself from the pain."

Many new mothers and makeup vloggers have posted photos of themselves applying their makeup while in their birthing rooms.

Feeling the makeup would make them more comfortable, many women had an assistant to help them get gussied up before the big moment.

Other women waited until after giving birth to throw on some mascara.

Some Twitter users totally understood the trend:

Others felt applying makeup to give birth was taking things a step too far:

Ultimately, whatever makes a woman most comfortable while delivering should be accepted by all.

Hopefully, this trend doesn't become a new hoop women already in substantial amounts of pain feel they have to jump through.

It's well-known across the internet that it takes forever for men to use the restroom. For dads especially, in the time it takes them to poop, when they return to the house, their kids will have aged seven years, and their baby will have learned to walk.

These are jokes, of course, but it's an internet consensus that men spend a really long time on the porcelain throne.

In early 2024, 49-year-old Antonia Eastwood married Ashley Monk after about five months of dating. During the ceremony, Antonia tripped while walking down the aisle.

Antonia and Ashley were both suspicious that she did not trip accidentally and that Ashley's sister, Gemma, actually tripped her. Gemma and Antonia were not close, and the couple also believed that Gemma might be jealous that they were marrying after five months, though she'd been with her childhood sweetheart for 20 years without tying the knot.
