Cawthorn Calls Women 'Earthen Vessels' in Bonkers Anti-Abortion Rant on House Floor

Cawthorn Calls Women 'Earthen Vessels' in Bonkers Anti-Abortion Rant on House Floor

Far-right Congressman Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina has repeatedly promoted Christian fascist sentiments to his constituents and to the media.

The 26 year old freshman representative has urged Christians to "take our country back" amid what he believes is a "spiritual battle." He's repeatedly referred to the Capitol insurrectionists as "political prisoners." He's foreseen "bloodshed" if elections continue to be "stolen."

And this past week, following the Supreme Court's oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Center that may result in the overthrow of Roe v. Wade, Cawthorn delivered a House floor speech encapsulating what he sees as the purpose of women and anyone else with a uterus.

Watch below.

In the speech advocating for forced birth imposed by the government, Cawthorn said:

"Madame Speaker, a silent genocide has slipped beneath the conscience of America. Precious works of our creator formed and set apart meet death before they breathe life. Eternal souls, woven into earthen vessels, sanctified by Almighty God, and endowed with the miracle of life are denied their birth by a nation born of freedom. God's breath of life blown away by the breath of man."

Social media users found the diatribe incredibly disturbing.

The description of birthing people as "earthen vessels" was especially denounced.

Chilling.
