West Virginia Senator Responds To Trump Calling Him 'Munchkin' With Some Shade Of His Own

President Donald Trump was hoping Joe Manchin, one of the most conservative Democrats in the U.S. Senate, would vote in his favor during the impeachment trial that ultimately ended in his acquittal.

Unfortunately for the President, despite his moderate tendencies, Manchin couldn't ignore the mountain of evidence against the President and ended up voting for his conviction. In retaliation, Trump lashed out at Manchin on Twitter, calling him a munchkin.

But Manchin can dish it out as well as he can take it.

When asked about the insult by Jake Tapper, Manchin responded:

"I am a little taller than him. He's got me about 30 pounds on weight."

Manchin went on to comment on the President's behavior to the New York Times.

"The people of America and the people of West Virginia want some adults in the room."

On Twitter, it was pretty clear who came out on top of the exchange.

It didn't take anyone long to figure out where the childish insult had originated.

Maybe it'd be nice if the President spent his time helping America instead of shooting lame jokes out on Twitter.

It seems Joe Manchin won't be cowing to Trump's will anytime soon.
