People Explain What Happened To Their First Crush

Reddit user Potential-Click8696 asked: 'What happened to your first crush?'

The strict definition of a crush is a "brief but intense infatuation for someone, especially someone unattainable."

Therefore, many crushes are on people we never meet or interact with directly like actors, singers, athletes or other public figures.

My first crushes were when I was about 3 years old and was fascinated by three fictional characters: fireman paramedic Johnny Gage, Ensign Pavel Chekov and Lt. Hikaru Sulu. They were characters played by Randolph Mantooth on Emergency! and Walter Koenig and George Takei on Star Trek, respectively.

I've never met any of them face-to-face, but I ended up working for Uncle George—although I kept my childhood crush to myself until now.

My first "actual human I'm interacting with directly" crush didn't come until I was about 12 years old in 8th grade. This crush ended up liking me back.

Ah, young nerds in love.

However, he moved away to attend a prestigious prep school on a full academic scholarship before my sophomore year in high school.

We reconnected online in our 30s. He later recruited me to join a study he was part of on face-blindness (prosopagnosia) and autism, where my general oddness was finally diagnosed as ASD.

In our 40s, he walked on after a brief battle with a very aggressive, rare, and deadly form of cancer. Rest In Peace, Leith.

Newsom Brings Receipts About Red State Homicide Rates Amid Trump's Deployment Of Troops To Blue Cities

In recent weeks, Fox News has devoted significant coverage to California Governor Gavin Newsom and his state's crime rates, a move the network has barreled into since President Donald Trump ordered National Guard troops into Los Angeles as part of his nationwide immigration crackdown.
