Holly Marie Combs took to Instagram on Tuesday, penning an emotional tribute to Shannen Doherty following her death from cancer on Saturday.
Doherty's Charmed costar shared several photos of the two together, noting in the caption Doherty was her "best friend" and "sister."
Combs wrote:
"My better half of 31 years."
"There is a hollow in my chest and I can't seem to catch my breath."
"A part of me is missing even though I know exactly what you would say to me right now. I know exactly what you would tell me to do right now."
The post continued:
"I know your undying spirit will live in me and my kids who you loved as your own."
"They will walk with your sense of purpose and pride. They will be truthful and stand up for what is right."
"No matter what and zero f**ks given."
"Your fire will live on in them and the many other Charmed ones you helped raise."
Combs finished her heartfelt tribute.
"A fierce fighter til the end."
"My most ardent champion. My loyal protector. My best friend."
"You taught me the meaning of family. You were and will be forevermore my sister."
"I love you."
Rose McGowan, who replaced Doherty on Charmed, commented on Combs' touching message.
"Your true love forever. Deep and real and challenging and unique and silly and wild and soft and tough… to watch you together is to know love exists."
"I’m so sorry your best girl had to go."
"We are all holding you in our heart dear Holly. You are loved. 🕊️🤍"

Others shared their heartbreak over the loss, as well.
Many also sent their condolences to Combs and expressed their appreciation for her kind words about Doherty.
Since Doherty's passing, many of her former costars have taken to social media to express their sorrow.
Much of her 90210 family shared their heartbreak on Instagram.
Jason Priestly posted a photo of him and Doherty together and wrote:
"Shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of my friend Shannen."
"She was a force of nature and I will miss her."
"Sending love and light to her family in this dark time."
Jennie Garth wrote of Doherty:
"She was courageous, passionate, determined and very loving and generous."
"I will miss her and will always honor her deeply in my heart and in my memories."
Sharing several photos of Doherty and herself together, Tori Spelling noted that, "F**k them… is what Shan would say if I told her I felt pressure to have to summarize via social media a 36 year relationship and the grief I feel for a fire who’s flame went out too soon."
Brian Austin Green shared a sweet message to his Instagram stories and in a post, as well, attributing his "understanding of love" to Doherty.
In recent months, Doherty had shared on her podcast Let's Be Clear that she was feeling very positive about a "miracle" treatment. And just last month, the actor said on an episode that she was feeling "hopeful" about a new round of chemotherapy.
Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and went into remission in 2017. But in 2019 she announced it had returned.
Then last November, she learned the cancer had spread to her bones.
On the latest episode of Let's Be Clear released on July 8, the host had Combs on as her guest, and they revealed that Doherty would be joining The House of Halliwell podcast alongside Combs, Brian Krause and Drew Fuller.
The podcast had been on hiatus since October 2022 but was set to relaunch with Doherty on board.
Doherty had recorded some episodes of the podcast, but sadly, the first episode wasn't released until after her death.
On the July 14th episode, Krause began by speaking on Doherty's passing.
“I know all of us here at the 'House of Halliwell,' iHeartmedia, social media, all over the world are shocked, devastated."
"Too young, too talented, too loving, too grateful, too early."
"Shannen will dearly be missed and we are so honored that she had come on with us, or, had us along with her on this new incantation of the 'House of Halliwell.'"
He continued, acknowledging her contribution to the podcast.
“We were lucky enough to record four episodes in the last week or so, and Shannen was just so motivated and determined to help make this show a success and give all of you more insight into what it was in the making and the fun and the behind-the-scenes of Charmed.”
Krause then said they would continue with the podcast in honor of their late cohost.
“We are going to continue on in her name, and kick freaking a**, because that’s what she would do."
"So from us at the House of Halliwell — we love you and we thank you and please keep Shannen in your prayers.”
