There is nothing sweeter than a precious photo of a couple getting engaged on a beach in Southern California.

But for betrothed couple Ryan Basch and Katie Ryan, having a former NBA star accidentally photobombing their shoot was an indisputable slam dunk.

Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade – who won three NBA championships and retired in 2019 – happened to be walking along Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito, California when he noticed Basch was on bended knee in front of his sweetheart.

The photographer who shot the proposal managed to catch Wade reacting to the proposal with his hand over his heart and a genuine expression on his delighted face.

Basch posted two photos for his post – one of which was a closeup of Wade's pure reaction – and captioned it with:

"When @dwyanewade happens to be taking a sunset stroll on the beach and walks by mid-proposal."

Wade later joined the couple and took pictures with them and shared one of the photos on his Instagram stories where he wrote:

"It was so dope to witness you guys love!"

According to Twitter user @OriginalYoni, Wade even DM'd the couple and hoped for their long-lasting union.

"I need y'all marriage to work. It's now on my conscious [sic] haha."

Twitter swooned over Wade's sweet reaction and the couple's star struck moment that followed.

Some teased the NBA star for the length of his arms in the photo with the couple.

Congratulations to the engaged couple. May their marriage be filled with much joy for years to come.

Dwyane Wade is counting on it.

Working Mom Gets Emotional After Realizing She's Missing All Her Baby's Major Milestones

Anyone who has raised children or is regularly around children can attest that they truly do grow up so fast.

That's what makes it so hard for new parents to go back to work after having a baby. It's not necessarily balancing the new responsibilities of parenthood with their preexisting responsibilities as a working adult, in an office and at home. It's the fact that they're going to miss out on some of the first moments and milestones with their children, which they can't ever get back.
