Bill Maher's feelings were hurt when he was not invited to a certain Oscar party.

The Real Time with Bill Maher host was reportedly so furious that his name was omitted from the exclusive party list that he used to be a part of, that he fired his longtime talent agency of more than two decades, CAA.

Maher had been repped by Steven Lafferty, who serves as CAA's head of television.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Maher wasn't sent an invitation to CEO Bryan Lourd’s private Oscar party at his home on Saturday night ahead of Sunday's 97th Academy Awards ceremony.

The exclusive event was scheduled opposite the Motion Picture & Television Fund’s Night Before party and was attended by the Hollywood who's who elite.

The roster of high-profile individuals reportedly included J.J. Abrams, Barry Diller, Bob Iger, Alan Bergman, Dana Walden, Brian Robbins, Jason Blum, Brian Grazer, Donna Langley, and Pam Abdy, as well as Democratic VP Kamala Harris.

The invitation was also extended to include fellow CAA clients like A-listers Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston, who were also in attendance.

The private party at Lourd's home was preceded by another event at Sunset Tower on Friday night hosted by CAA, which toasted several then-Oscar nominees such as Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Cillian Murphy, Jeffrey Wright, Annette Bening, Carey Mulligan, Emily Blunt, Danielle Brooks, Jodie Foster, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph.

Social media users pretty much thought Maher had it coming given his vocal Hollywood criticisms.

News of Maher calling it quits with CAA came after the talent agency negotiated an additional two-year extension for Real Time, which would take HBO's long-running weekly talk show into its 24th season in 2026.

Maher's reps have yet to respond to THR's request for a comment.

The stereotype of the weeping mother unable to cope with her children beginning preschool, or kindergarten, or graduating from high school, or going off to college was shattered by former First Lady Michelle Obama during a recent appearance by Jon Stewart on her IMO (In My Opinion) with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson podcast.

While pop culture has reinforced the trope of empty nester moms unable to cope when their children gain independence, the former FLOTUS told Stewart she feels free now that her daughters Malia and Sasha Obama, now 28 and 25 years old respectively, have moved out on their own.
