When the first X-Men film went into production, Dougary Scott had been cast as Wolverine.

However, after Mission Impossible II went over schedule, and amidst some rumored pressure from Tom Cruise, Scott was forced to withdraw from the film.

As a result, the producers of X-Men took their chance on a relatively unknown young Australian actor named Hugh Jackman.

And the rest, as they say, is Marvel Cinematic History.

Indeed, it's rather shocking that Hugh Jackman wasn't the first choice for Wolverine, as it's hard to imagine anyone else in the role, so perfect was the rugged yet vulnerable Jackman.

Something even Dougary Scott has come to admit himself.

Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, however, is only one of countless instances of a role being so perfectly cast, that it's impossible to fathom anyone else in the role.

Redditor MKE_Now was curious to hear which actors other people thought were perfectly cast in classic film and television roles, leading them to ask:
"What actor or actress was the most perfectly cast role in film or television?"

The baton for playing Batman, James Bond and even Mary Poppins has been graciously, mostly successful, passed on, despite some very big shoes to fill.

But fine as Emily Blunt, Daniel Craig and Robert Pattinson did carrying on their respective legacies, they would be the first to admit that their blueprint was set by Julie Andrews, Sean Connery, and George Clooney.

Hey, he did the best he could with that script....

Man Goes Viral After 3D-Printing A 6-Pound Phone Case To Combat Screen Addiction

Many Millennials will remember back in the nineties as the last of the "latchkey kids" who were prominently babysat by their televisions, and the commercials that rolled out, made popular on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, promoting kids to go play outside instead of watching TV all day.

Now in 2025, videos on Instagram and TikTok encouraging people to "pause their scroll" and to "put down their phones" are becoming more common and popular, because people are realizing how detrimental our increasing screen time is to our emotional, physical, and psychological health.

Woman Sparks Heated Debate After Encouraging People To Smile At Walmart Greeters

There's an old saying that goes, "It costs nothing to be kind."

Smiling at a stranger, saying hi back to a young and socialable child, holding a door for someone, and maybe even exchanging a pleasantry or two at the checkout line costs nothing more than a few words passing our lips and showing a little kindness.
