A video of a Walmart employee swapping out a salad dressing price sticker for a higher price went viral and sparked an online discussion about inflation and price gouging.
In the clip shared by TikToker Shawn Connor, a.k.a. @devious_love, the store worker removed $2.24 price tags on the product shelf and replaced them with $7.88 tags.
That's more than a 350% increase.
Connor paired the video with a segment from Nardo Wick's "Who Wants To Smoke?" in which the song's lyrics, "WTF is that?", exactly echoed our sentiments.
@devious_love wtf!!! @walmart #OutlanderChallenge #fyp
The clip racked up over 2.6 million views.
TikTokers were shook.

Some speculated the crisis in Ukraine was responsible for the exorbitant price hike.

Some users said the price change has not affected their local Walmart stores.

Another user said the store they worked for has reversed their pricing.

And some people claimed this was an error on Walmart's part.

Neither @devious_love nor Walmart have commented on the issue as of this writing.
