Trump Calls For Pete Buttigieg And Amy Klobuchar To Be 'Impeached' For Endorsing Biden—Doesn't Seem To Realize That They Can't Be

Trump Calls For Pete Buttigieg And Amy Klobuchar To Be 'Impeached' For Endorsing Biden—Doesn't Seem To Realize That They Can't Be

Throughout the months long impeachment proceedings against him, President Donald Trump and his allies repeatedly claimed that the Democrats had been looking for a reason to impeach him since even before he was elected.

Like other valid oversight efforts against him, Trump called deemed the proceedings a "hoax" and a "witch hunt."

Weeks after being acquitted by the Senate, it looks now like Trump is searching for a reason to impeach any Democrat who looks to make him a one term President—even if the Constitution doesn't allow for it.

Trump's latest targets were Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg, both of whom ended their Presidential campaigns earlier this week to endorse former Vice President Joe Biden in the race.

Watch Trump call for Buttigieg's and Klobuchar's impeachments at a recent North Carolina rally below.

Trump said:

"Sounds like they made a deal, y'know? They both supported Sleepy Joe, you know why? They made a deal! You know why? Quid pro quo, that's why. Quid pro quo. Quid pro quo, they made a deal. Impeach them! They should be impeached. They should be impeached!"

Trump invoked the phrase "quid pro quo," alluding to his withholding of congressionally approved military aid from Ukraine on the condition that its President announce investigations into Biden and his son's business dealings—the move that got him impeached.

There's a lot to unpack here.

Unlike Trump's quid pro quo, Buttigieg and Klobuchar endorsed a candidate in their party's election and suspended their own campaigns. No taxpayer dollars were misallocated and no foreign relations were tarnished.

What's more, Klobuchar can't be impeached because she's a sitting United States Senator, and therefore cannot be impeached, only expelled with a two-thirds vote.

Buttigieg's impeachment is a nonstarter, because he is no longer mayor, but a private citizen.

People were bemused at the flaws in Trump's so-called logic.

As you may have predicted, his supporters didn't know or quite likely didn't care. They cheered their leader and booed his enemies and all sensibility continued swirling the drain.

Great job, guys.

Earlier this week, Trump announced new tariffs: 10% on softwood timber and lumber, and 25% on “certain upholstered wooden products,” set to take effect October 14. The move follows Trump’s announcement last week of additional tariffs on kitchen cabinets, vanities, and other upholstered products, which will take effect October 1.

College Announcer Apologizes After Sparking Outrage With Body-Shaming Comment About Plus-Size Dance Team

In the United States, there are 107 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)—schools founded when segregation laws and racist policies kept Black men and women from higher education. The schools developed their own unique culture and customs around stepping, marching band, drum majors, and majorettes.

HBCU majorettes march with the band, dance, and have stand battles during games. The dance style and moves are unique to Black culture, but have spread beyond the HBCUs to high schools and dance schools across the country.
