The Fiery Demise Of A Beloved 'Game Of Thrones' Mainstay Proved To Be The Perfect Kindling For Some Memes

The Fiery Demise Of A Beloved 'Game Of Thrones' Mainstay Proved To Be The Perfect Kindling For Some Memes
HBO // @WightsKing

If you haven't watched the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones, back away from this article immediately because there are plenty of SPOILERS.

"The Bells," the fifth episode of the eighth and final season of HBO's landmark hit, might as well have been titled: Dr. Targaryen or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Commit War Crimes.

Yes, the episode was an 80-minute genocide of King's Landing, and we received a hint of the carnage that would come as Daenerys Targaryen executed Lord Varys for conspiring against her.

AN EPIC MOMENT.

Varys went quickly in a rage of dragon fire, and he neither whimpered nor screamed. He knew what was coming.

These memes, though...

Oh, and Varys didn't go to his death until after he'd sent out a few messages identifying Jon Snow as the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

RIP, Varys. You were the rock star of the Seven Kingdoms.

We are in for a treat this coming week. Now that those letters are out there, there's no way Daenerys can come out of this unscathed.

Varys, you sly devil. We'll miss you.

Trump Swiftly Fact-Checked After Making Bonkers Claim About How Many Americans Died From Drugs Last Year

President Donald Trump was criticized after attempting to justify the bombing of a suspected Venezuelan drug boat by asserting that 300 million people died from drugs last year.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Trump was asked about the order he gave earlier this month to destroy a boat he suspected of transporting drugs off the coast of Venezuela, rather than simply intercepting it. All 11 people on board the boat were killed.
