Where once actors on stage had to deal with the crinkling of butterscotch toffees coming from the audience, it seems now in the age of technology, things have progressed to cell phones and iPads.

This week, while performing in the West End performance of Killer Joe, actor Orlando Bloom stayed in character as he let a lady have it over her decision to use her iPad during the performance. A Twitter user who was in the audience sent out the following tweet in regards to the incident.

Mark Shenton, a critic in London was also there to witness the scolding.

Other theater fans who were there weighed in.

One person thought maybe the woman wasn't meaning to be disruptive.

Another Twitter user weighed in correcting what she heard Bloom say.

People supported Bloom for taking a stand.

Let this be a lesson when you go to the theater. No candy wrappers and no iPads!

Bloom's reaction brings to mind the reaction of theater legend Patti LuPone to an individual who would not stop using their phone during a performance. LuPone––the star of such productions as Evita and Sunset Boulevard––made headlines after she broke character to remove the phone from the person's hand.

Remember your theater ettiquette, friends. Don't ruin it for everyone else.

New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had people nodding their heads after she opened up about why democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani's win in the New York City mayoral election on Tuesday is so important for the country at large as well as for the future of the Democratic Party.

Mamdani successfully took on the establishment to become the first South Asian, first Muslim, and first millennial mayor-elect, running a campaign that focused predominantly on the city's affordability crisis and that successfully batted away racist and Islamophobic backlash from right-wingers who claimed his policies would "destroy" the city.

Reese Witherspoon Opens Up About Pressure Of Being First 'SNL' Host After 9/11—And We Can Only Imagine

We all remember where we were on September 11, 2001—one of the most terrifying Tuesdays in American history. Flights were grounded, the stock market froze, and late-night comedy suddenly felt irrelevant.
