Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) won the Nevada Caucuses by double digits this past weekend, and while his supporters were enjoying the Senator's third straight win of the popular vote, one MSNBC host was terrified.
Chris Matthews—who hasn't been silent regarding his reservations with Sanders—compared Sanders's undisputed frontrunner status with France's fall to the Nazis in World War II.

Matthews likened the moment to British Prime Minister Winston Churchill's reaction when he was told "it's over" in regards to France:
"And Churchill says, 'How can it be? You got the greatest army in Europe. How could it be over?' He said, 'It's over.' So I had that suppressed feeling."
Sanders, who is Jewish, lost most of the family on his father's side at the hands of the Nazis. Matthews's comparison of Sanders to the Nazis overtaking France disgusted Democrats across the country.
The communications manager for the Sanders campaign, Mike Casca, took to Twitter to condemn the remarks from Matthews.
Others agreed.
Calls for Matthews's resignation continue to escalate.
