After President Donald Trump touted the U.S. military's "stealth" planes that he described as "undetectable," Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter responded to his claim with a funny quip sure to delight fans of her iconic character.
Earlier, Trump boasted about the military's capabilities in remarks to reporters in the Oval Office amid heightened concerns about the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict that is sending shockwaves throughout the Middle East and around the world:
"We have the best military equipment in the world. You see that with this fight. We have planes that are undetectable flying around. Nobody's able to see them. Stealth." ...
"We have incredible planes and weapons. We have the best weapons in the world."
You can hear what Trump said in the video below.
If Trump's claim about "undetectable planes" bring to mind a certain "Invisible Plane" then you're not alone.
The Invisible Plane, a signature element of Wonder Womanâs lore, is an Amazonian aircraft known for its stealth capabilities and sleek design. Equipped with invisible missiles, the plane can be summoned at will and responds to Wonder Womanâs telepathic commands. At times, she also uses electronic controls built into her tiara to direct its flight path and operations.
The Invisible Plane was featured in the 1970s Wonder Woman television series starring Carter, who commented shortly after Trump's comments with the following message about these "undetectable planes":
"I assure you, none of them are mine."
You can see Carter's post below.
Carter also noted that Wonder Woman is "a peacekeeper" who "believes that all war is destructive to humanity."
Many loved her response.
Carter is no fan of the Trump administration and has previously spoken out against the right wing.
She notably criticized social media users who suggested she is a "disappointment" for having backed the candidacy of former Vice President Kamala Harris and called out memes comparing failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake to her famous Wonder Woman role.
And as the nation reels from a Supreme Court ruling upholding a Tennessee law banning some gender-affirming care, it's worth remembering Carter's fierce defense of transgender people, noting that attackers should leave transgender people "alone and focus on the real war on women" that is "happening in the courts and legislatures around this country."
