The singer was spotted in Italy sporting the new tattoo, and sparked speculation that it was for ex-girlfriend Olivia Wilde.

Fans love their theories, and as the internet and social media have expanded over the years, so have people's investigative skills.

So when a famous artist is spotted on a beach, potentially sporting a tattooed rendition of their ex-partner's name on their leg, fans are going to start doing their research.

During a boat-side trip in Italy alongside James Corden, his wife Julia Carey, model Jacquelyn Jablonski, singer Harry Styles was spotted with a new tattoo. In red ink and cursive letters, "Olivia" can be read on his thigh.

The reveal of the tattoo immediately left fans wondering if this was a direct reference to Olivia Wilde, who Styles once dated, or if it was in reference to something behind-the-scenes.

Here's the noted thigh tattoo that fans spotted:

Some fans were left wondering if the tattoo read "Olivia" or "Otivla."

"Olivia" would more than likely be in reference to the singer's ex-girlfriend, Olivia Wilde, but the word "otivla" is an interesting option, because it's Urdu for "Don't give up."

That message is lovely, but it could also be a reference to one of Styles' own song titles, which was featured on his album, Hurry Up, We're Dreaming. Maybe that's one of his favorite songs he's composed?

Some were absolutely swooning over the idea of the ex-couple possibly still having feelings for each other.

Others were critical and certain that Styles did not care for Wilde enough to have her name tattooed on his body.

But some thought this was a reasonable enough response for any human to have after a lengthy and serious relationship.

This is not the first time fans have speculated about Harry Styles' love life. In fact, during Taylor Swift's Eras tour, fans have been actively talking about the possibility of the pair getting back together, citing interactions the artists have had with one another, similar outfits, and comparative song lyrics.

There's a distinct possibility that "Olivia" is in reference to Styles' ex, Olivia Wilde, but perhaps it holds some other significance for him, like a favorite writer or a female character in a tragic Shakespearean play.

But no matter what the tattoo represents, this is a great reminder to fans that we'll never know everything going on in our favorite celebrities' and performers' minds, because we simply aren't close enough to know all of their secrets.

Trump Gets U.S. Military Troops To Boo Democrats And 'Fake News' During Alarming Speech

Members of the military stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, erupted in boos when President Donald Trump goaded them during a speech in which he attacked former President Joe Biden, California Governor Gavin Newsom, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, and the "fake news" covering the ongoing protests in L.A. in response to the Trump administration's immigration raids.

The military has a longstanding tradition of remaining nonpartisan so it was striking that those in attendance, many of whom wore military fatigues, booed in the first place.
