GOP Dragged for Absurd Tweet Slamming Biden for Not Keeping '100 Days' Promise to Reopen Schools

On January 20, 2021, President Joe Biden was inaugurated as President of the United States. He immediately enacted dozens of executive orders seeking to undo the damage of former President Donald Trump, as well as addressing racial injustice and the pandemic that's killed over 500 thousand Americans.

One component of Biden's ambitious first 100 day agenda is the reopening of schools after pandemic-induced closures put millions of American students into virtual learning models.

As of now, school reopenings have largely been left to the discernment of local officials and tailored to developments within individual communities.

Biden said in December of his reopening plan:

"If Congress provides the funding, we need to protect students, educators and staff. If states and cities put strong public health measures in place that we all follow, then my team will work to see that the majority of our schools can be open by the end of my first 100 days."

The specifics of the plan are still developing as Biden's health officials face Senate confirmation and the goal isn't without challenges, but there are still 64 days left before Biden's first 100 days are up.

The Republican party apparently missed that fact, claiming in a since-deleted tweet that Biden had failed to keep his 100 day goal of reopening schools.

People were quick to correct the tweet.

After widespread ridicule, the GOP tried again.

But that tweet was met with opposition as well.

The GOP didn't critique former President Donald Trump for his repeated failure to deliver a healthcare plan "in two weeks."

Trump Dragged After Making Ridiculous Claim About Randomly Finding Billions On The 'Tariff Shelf'

President Donald Trump was criticized after he claimed to reporters this week that officials in his administration suddenly found $30 billion they "never knew existed"—located on what Trump referred to as the "tariff shelf."

Tariffs are a tax on imported goods, usually calculated as a percentage of the purchase price. While tariffs can shield domestic manufacturers by making foreign products more expensive, they are also used as a tool to penalize countries engaged in unfair trade practices, such as government subsidies or dumping goods below market value.

Bride's Friends Surprise Her With Montage Video Of All Her Exes At Bachelorette Party—And People Are Mortified

While Jenny Han's novel To All the Boys I've Loved Before was a major hit, and even became a great film success in 2018, not everyone's married to the idea of reconnecting with their exes after the relationships end.

It might be nice to imagine staying friends after the relationships, imagining our exes missing us or regretting losing us, or even giving us an apology for the things they did wrong. But most of us pine for this for a little while, realize it's all a fairy tale, and push past it to better things and new love.
