Trump Lawyer Absurdly Claims She's 'Doing The Right Thing For God' By Undermining Election Results

Trump Lawyer Absurdly Claims She's 'Doing The Right Thing For God' By Undermining Election Results
Fox News

It's no secret those who are inside of MAGA-land will believe in any old conspiracy theory to underpin their stead-fast belief in their leader, President Donald J. Trump.

This has been on full display in the aftermath of the 2020 election where Biden won five out of seven swing-states and racked up the largest popular vote victory over an incumbent President since FDR beat Herbert Hoover. And yet, some Republicans keep acting as if the election was close and Trump may still have a legitimate shot at winning via his myriad failed court cases.

This wishful thinking extends to Trump's legal team. We're all aware of Rudy "Four Seasons Total Landscaping" Guiliani's antics.

But perhaps even more disturbing are the antics of his lawyer, Jenna Ellis. On Monday, Ellis appeared on Fox Business to spout the usual lies about President-elect Biden's historically large win over Donald Trump.

But not only did she spout these lies, she explicitly echoed some of the rhetoric behind the cult of QAnon by painting her mission to overturn the lawful results of a US election as somehow an extension of her 'Christian values'.

You can see her appearance here:

When explaining her reasons for trying to stop the duly elected President-elect from taking office, she said:

"You know, my life is in service and honor to the Lord Jesus Christ. And so whatever anybody else says really doesn't bother me."
"I hope that I can be a light and inspiration to everyone else that no matter what anyone else says about you, it's all about just who you are as a person and made in the image of God and in Christ."

She went on to say:

"And that's ultimately at the end of the day, as long as I know that I'm pursuing truth and I'm doing the right thing for God and my country, that's all that matters. So that's what gives me my optimism and my hope."

Needless to say, the internet went off on Ellis.

Many explained nothing about Donald Trump—or their court challenges—is Christian.

Some were relieved to find out Jenna Ellis was not a member of their ethnoreligious group.

And many were certain she couldn't actually believe the words coming out of her mouth.

And of course, there was this solid point:

After the electoral college votes next week, will Donald Trump stop his legal challenges and daily pleas for his MAGA minions to send him money?

God only knows.

Stephen Colbert Makes Somber Plea To Americans In Wake Of Charlie Kirk's Death

Late-night host Stephen Colbert had a somber message for Americans as he addressed the assassination of far-right activist Charlie Kirk, stressing that "political violence only leads to more political violence."

Kirk died after an unidentified gunman shot him in the neck as he—ironically enough—mocked victims of gun violence at an event in Utah Valley State University. Kirk's murder has galvanized the far-right, with President Donald Trump and his surrogates claiming without evidence that rhetoric from Democrats is responsible for Kirk's death.

TikToker Hilariously Calls Out Target After Champion Pants Feature Awkwardly-Placed Front Pleat

Sometimes you can just tell when something was designed *for* women, but was not actually designed *by* women.

Take, for instance, the new pleated pants available at Target from the Champion clothing line. While there's nothing wrong with pleated pants and they certainly have a suitable spot in the workplace, the latest rendition of Champion pleated pants are, shall we say, NSFW.

Woman Goes Viral After Revealing How Her Obsession With Matcha Landed Her In The Hospital

Let's be honest: Too much of anything isn't good for us. It's all about the balance!

But the media and social media trends have taught us that certain things are really good for us, encouraging us to be like the "very mindful and very demure" girls and take care of ourselves. One such example is drinking more matcha, especially if you really like coffee or think you have a caffeine addiction.
