"What's the craziest way you got ever got a girl/boyfriend?" –– This was today's burning question from Redditor Fireboyxx908, and it was the perfect pick-me-up.

Think you'll never meet "the one"? Think again. (Or, to be more accurate, think outside the box.)

Who says romance is dead?

"Went up one floor..."

Went up one floor too many at a party. Invited the girl who answered the door downstairs to the party. She's my wife now.

"Got my friend..."

Got my friend to punch me in front of a girl from my class in school. He slipped just as he was about hit me and hit me so hard he knocked me out. My friend then ran away and the girl stayed with me until I came round.

"Worked in a shop..."

Worked in a shop and told the new girl to let me serve the cute girl that just came in that I'd been crushing on for weeks. Turns out new girl was her sister. I was mortified. We got married though.

"She found my music..."

Giphy

She found my music on LimeWire and liked the song so much that she started sharing it with her friends. One of the guys she shared with knew me from college, had a thing for her and thought he'd impress her by introducing her to me. We started chatting online and hit it off, I invited her to a New Years party, we hooked up that night and started dating. This coming new years will be our 14th anniversary.

"Back in high school..."

Back in high school, this guy and I really liked each other, but we were both shy and neither one of us wanted to make the first move (neither one of us had dated anyone before).

After months of us flirting back and forth, a friend of mine finally blurted out "Are you guys dating yet or what?"

He looked at me and said "If she wants to, sure."

I said "Sure, why not."

When we invited her to the wedding several years later, she made sure to tell everyone that we would never have gotten together if it wasn't for her.

"Dragged to a party..."

Dragged to a party reluctantly. While there a girl said "Excuse me, do I know you?"

It wasn't a chat up line but a genuine question. To be fair I wouldn't have picked up on it if it had been one.

Still together 20 years later and now she knows me.

"Short version."

Short version. I was spinning fire in a park, he was slacklining. Gets pretty late and he said wanna go to national park about 2 hours away? I said yes, we drove up there, I taught him to spin fire in a quarry cave, had to borrow a lighter from two guys on quad bikes, teamed up with them and ended up quad biking a quarry rim at 3am. It's been 5 years and 12 countries traveling in a van we converted together. Oh and we got a dog.

"He had been my friend..."

He had been my friend for 7 years; after a traumatic event he was the only guy who never tried to push my boundaries and cared about my well being.

He was always that goofy little brother type and now he's my lover. Life's funny.

Lockshala

"He was barely literate..."

Straight up Cyrano de Bergerac situation. Friend started dating a girl at work, and he was freaking out because she was a "good girl" that expected him to write her and give cards in her birthday. He was barely literate... mostly high school drama type letters nothing dirty.

Well I started helping him, and we all worked together so I hung out with her a lot. Anyway I just kept writing him cards for her , eventually at some point I started writing them as if I was making the cards and letters for her.

Any way, at some point 2-3 months in, he dumps her, so I took a chance and told her I was interested and explained the card thing.

20 some odd years later we are still married .

"Slept..."

Slept with a woman who was 5 years older than me. She said afterwards "You have to meet my daughter!" Ended up living with her for 3 years.

Woman Stunned After Best Friend Of 23 Years Ends Friendship Over Her 'Mom Shorts'

We will all have friends who come into our lives for a reason, for a season, or for a lifetime. There are those situational friendships, like from work or school, that dissolve when we exit that space, and there are friendships that might form from knowing the same people.

Then there are those tried-and-true friendships that we think will truly stand the test of time—but even those sometimes fracture under pressure. And sometimes for the most ridiculous reasons.

MAGA Fumes Over Fox Gun Control Talk

The nation is reeling after yesterday’s mass shooting at Annunciation Church in Minneapolis, where a gunman opened fire during a Catholic school Mass, killing two children and injuring more than a dozen others. The tragedy has not only shaken the community but also reignited the national debate over guns in America—this time sparked by an unlikely voice.

Former Republican congressman and Fox News host of Sunday Night in America, Trey Gowdy—long seen as a staunch defender of gun rights and a past recipient of National Rifle Association contributions—surprised many of his own allies when he called for a national reckoning on firearms access.
