Photo Of Christian Bale As A Tattooed Frankenstein's Monster Has Everyone Thinking The Same Thing

After Maggie Gyllenhaal shared images from her upcoming movie 'The Bride,' people couldn't help but compare star Christian Bale's look as Frankenstein's monster to Jared Leto as the Joker.

Maggie Gyllenhaal's first look at her sophomore directorial effort has definitely gotten the internet talking, but probably not for the reasons she intended.

The film, called The Bride, stars Christian Bale and Jessie Buckley as Frankenstein's monster and the Bride of Frankenstein.

But Bale's look in the film had fans thinking of a different character entirely—Jared Leto's Joker from Suicide Squad. See what you think in Gyllenhaal's Instagram post below.

Many fans thought the resemblance to Leto was just a bit too uncanny, especially given all his tattoos, and it didn't help that Bill Skasgård's look in the forthcoming remake of The Crow struck fans as similarly Leto-inspired.

Gyllenhaal's film hasn't even begun shooting yet. The image of Bale, along with an image of Buckley as the Bride in question, were from camera tests from pre-production.

The film is set in 1930s Chicago and centers on the Bride after she is revived following her murder and becomes the leader of a radical movement—and looks for love too, of course.

The film isn't slated to release until late 2025, so it's possible Bale's look will change by then.

And if fans having anything to say about it, Bale's monster will definitely need a de-Leto makeover.

The Bride is scheduled to drop in October 2025.

Still plenty of time to make some changes...

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton mocked President Donald Trump following a report he approved a proposed design featuring his portrait on a new $250 bill bearing his signature, despite longstanding federal law barring living people from appearing on U.S. currency.

According to four current and former Treasury Department employees who spoke to the Post anonymously out of fear of retaliation, two political appointees at the department—U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach and senior adviser Mike Brown—repeatedly pressed Bureau of Engraving and Printing staff beginning last year to develop prototype designs for the bill.
