Benson Boone Hilariously Apologizes For Grabbing His Crotch 'So Aggressively' During Grammys

The singer shocked fans after "aggressively" grabbing his crotch at the end of his performance of "Beautiful Things" at the Grammys—and he explained why he did it in an apology on Instagram.

That wasn't a Grammy trophy that artist Benson Boone fiercely clutched at Sunday's 67th Annual Grammy Awards.

The 22-year-old singer/songwriter gave a rousing performance of his hit song "Beautiful Things" at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles while wearing a '70s-style baby blue jumpsuit with a plunging neckline.

The shiny outfit was strikingly revealed courtesy of Heidi Klum and Nikki Glaser, who tore away his formal outerwear before Boone hit the stage and showed off his acrobatic flair by doing a front flip off a grand piano to land center stage and later doing a backflip.

However, what many people were talking about was his wardrobe "adjustment" at the end of the number that involved him "aggressively" grabbing his Beautiful Thing.

Here's a video.

On Monday morning, the American Idol alum wrote a public apology for fixing his crotch as a finisher to the performance.

“Sorry for adjusting my jumpsuit so aggressively on stage tonight,” he wrote, adding:

“That thing was extremely restricting in certain areas."

Many gave him a free pass.

"Beautiful Things" is the lead single off his 2024 debut studio album Fireworks & Rollerblades, which topped the charts in the UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, and New Zealand.

The song was also the singer's first to enter the top five on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

This year, Boone was up for Best New Artist, but the Grammy for the category ultimately went to Chappell Roan.

Boone gained popularity through singing videos on TikTok, which he pursued at the insistence of a friend. He later auditioned for the 19th season of American Idol in 2021, but after he earned a spot in the Top 24, he forfeited the competition to focus on his solo career.

One of his career highlights included opening for one of Taylor Swift's London engagements as part of her hugely successful Eras Tour in 2024.
